My condolences, Sid. Lost my wife of 35 years 3 years ago, so know the pain.
Smoked my lovely Shepard flame grain today. Torched a bowl of McClellan's Grey Havens today.
I joined in the waning days of 1999....or was it 1998? Well, at any rate, it was a hell of a long time ago. It was a great place to be then. So long ago, I don't remember many handles. Rollout (Bill Stewart) was one, though. Oh! and Pinot Noir, Patiobum and Mark Craney (who could forget him?)...
Well, you can't buy tobacco or accessories from Mark, but you can sure buy excellent pipes.
Mark Tinsky at American Smoking Pipe Co. : http://amsmoke.com
I have several of his pipes as well as a couple made by his former partner, Curt Rollar. Excellent and I highly recommend them.
I love a good cob! As far as keeping the bowl lit longer, can't say whether there's a diff between the two, but I do know that my packing the tobacco properly makes one heck of a difference.
But you may be right.....
While there are many sticks I'd love to sample, there is only one that stands out as something I would dearly love to smoke again. Many, many years ago, I got this thing in a Secret Santa exchange (or something like that). It was without a doubt the most delicious cigar I had ever, then or now...
It's been so long since last I logged in (2010) that the site was unable to let me re-set my password. I came here as a refugee from the Cigar Family forums as things had deteriorated there to the point that I no longer felt like I belonged. Here's my old CP profile...
Former CF FOG here. I was Glacierman on the CF site...here, too, originally, but it's been 14 years since I last logged in here on CP and I had trouble signing in...couldn't find my profile or something (it's still there, though), so had to open new account.
