Shark Navigator Lift-Away NV360 vs. NV356E: Which One is Best to Buy?

Both the Shark Navigator Lift-Away Deluxe NV360 and the Shark Navigator Lift-Away Professional NV356E are among the most distinguished upright vacuums on Shark’s portfolio. They have racked up a lot of reviews from consumers with the majority of them being positive. Many people didn’t shy away from praising them for their affordability, great design, and high cleaning performance.

But with either choices being so promising, which upright vacuum cleaner should one choose for their home and family?

Well, that’s what we’re going to find out in today’s comparison between the Shark Navigator Lift-Away DLX vacuum cleaner (NV360) and the Professional NV356E.

Shark navigator NV360 (NV360)

Immediately, the NV360 has a singular advantage over its competitor that could be the deal-sealer for many people: cheaper cost. Compared to the $199 tag of the NV356E, the NV360 merely goes for $149. If you’re looking for an affordable Shark vacuum, the Shark Navigator Lift Away Deluxe NV360 will be the better choice.

Now to cleaning performance.

The NV360 does a passable job on bare floors, but distinguishes itself on carpets and rugs. It doesn’t just clean up low-pile carpeting, but the motorized brush roll inside of the floor head can punch through dense piling of high-pile carpets, as well.

Though it may have some hiccups here and there, you won’t have to worry much about its cleaning performance. It can most definitely deliver.

Down to design, the Shark navigator lift away deluxe NV360 weighs 12.5 pounds. That’s relatively light for an upright. If you have a weak wrist or arthritis, the low weight’s going to make it easier for you to use the vacuum.

Power for the motor comes from a 25 feet power cord.

Both the NV360 and the NV356E have the Lift-Away canister, so it’s not a key differentiating feature. Nonetheless, in case you have yet to learn what it is, basically, the Lift-Away feature allows you to detach the vacuum’s canister. It can give you a significant mobility boost to clean tough and awkward places such as the ceiling, the stairs, shelves, or the car.

NV360 comes with a 1.2 dry quart dust cup.

The NV360’s filtering system has a HEPA filter as well as Shark’s patented Anti Allergen Complete Seal technology. If you or anyone in the house has allergies, the NV360’s filtering system can be counted on to keep you and your family safe.

It comes standard with two accessories: a crevice tool and an upholstery tool. This may change.

Shark Navigator Professional NV356E

As for the NV356E, it is virtually the same thing as the NV360. It exhibits the same level of performance as the NV360: great on bare floors and excellent on carpets (especially the thicker types.)

It also has roughly the same overall design, including the HEPA/Anti Allergen Seal filtration and the two complementary tools. But this is where the similarities end.

The NV356E is a tad heavier than the NV360 at 13 pounds instead of 12.5 pounds. The weight difference isn’t a lot and the vacuum is still light for an upright, so it’s not that big of a loss.

NV356E’s extra weight comes primarily from the larger dust cup. Instead of a 1.2 dry quart dust cup, this model has nearly double the capacity to 2.2 dry quarts. Thus, the NV356E is going to be an ideal vacuum if you have a large house to clean.

The power cord is also longer, too, measuring about 30 feet. That would give you a wider cleaning radius than the NV360.

Conclusion

So which one to buy at the end of the day?

Well, if you’re looking for affordability, look no further than the Shark Navigator Lift-Away NV360. But if you have a large house and aren't bothered about spending $50 more, the NV356E is going to be a fine choice.
