There's really no reason to use PG on beads. That stuff is a mess and distilled water is cheaper and works much better. The beads are designed to maintain 65% of 70% RH on their own, making PG useless. That stuff is better for units that don't regulate humidity themselves like sponges or crystals.

I'm sure Padilla will be fine, I smoke a '68 last night which as far as I know was not a Pepin blend- and it was excellent. As long as they continue to produce cigars of that quality, I'll happily continue smoking them no matter who is behind the blend.

I'm having the same problem here in Chicago. They won't turn the air conditioning on in my building until it gets ridiculously hot, and my humidor has been sitting at 75 - 76 degrees. It's getting to be a real worry to me, I think I'll have to get a cooler going.

I've had the same experience with them. All their cigars are shipped with humidity pouches and arrive on time, and the only time I did have a problem with an order I called Nancy and she fixed it right away.

If I could afford to smoke a high quality cigar every night of the week I'd do it in a heartbeat. Since I can't though, having 2 or 3 good ones a week beat having 7 mediocre ones.

I have two of those same Madelaine's jars at the bottom of my humidor and while they don't necessarily regulate the humidity at 70% they are pretty good at keeping it up. Why not add another humidification device? Those jars are only $8.
