What will be a good solid wood that will work correctly on the outside? I will line the interior with 1/4 or 3/8 spanish cedar.

Since my plan with making a humidor out of mdf and spanish cedar veneer fell through i decided on a new plan. Am i able to use cherry veneered plywood from menards for all the sides and then line it with 1/4 solid spanish cedar work well or is it better to use a solid wood than the veneered plywood?

It will be a 24" by 24" by 24" cabinet humidor and using 1/4 spanish cedar will be much much more expensive than veneer. It will also have a avallo humidifier.
