You will have to spray once a week, aphids and ants are one thing, but ski-toes reproduce very quickly. Get rid of standing water. Check HD for a decent spray.

+1 for getting rid of any standing water around your home. Not sure how well the HD sprays work but professional spraying will help for a decent amount of time. I heard mouthwash and dryer sheets also keep the bugs away. I don't foresee you laying them across your yard though
