It would be nice if mixing the beads would result in an rh point in between the two but it will not. The 70% beads will keep the rh up at 70% until they dry out then the rh will drop to 65% and the 65% beads will take over.

Having 10-20% of the beads dry is not a hard number. As long as some of the beads are still opaque you are OK. The main thing is to make sure that there is no standing water in the container and that all of the distilled water you added is absorbed by the beads. It is OK if the beads dry out to...
