    Bead Age

It is a combination of the oils and gases the cigars give off as they age and the oils from the spanish cedar that the humidor is made of.

    Where/How do use beads

Yes it will. Spray it and let it sit for a few minutes then spray again. Repeat until 80-90% of the beads are clear. This will give the moisture time to get to the interior beads.

I swear Goolge Checkout is going to drive me to drink.....oh wait, I'm already there. Sorry about that, Google has a mind of it's own now and then. It seems everytime they upgrade something the shipping goes to &$@^. I'm glad you got it OK on the other checkout.

    Salt testing a digital hygrometer

I am hoping that the "wet sand" in your post is a typo and you meant to say salt. No matter what method you use to check the accuracy of your hygrometer, either the salt test or the Boveda Calibration Kit, give the test at least 36 hours. It takes longethan you thionk for the atmosphere inside...

    Is this normal?

As usual you got some great answers form fellow BOTL. Most if not all B&M shops keep their humidors at 70+ and it will take a little while for the moisture to work its' way back out of the cigars and boxes.

    How to dry beads?

The oven works well. DO NOT use the microwave, what you will hear sounds alot like popcorn when the beads start to pop.

    I've run into a problem

Have you added some distilled water to the Heartfelt Beads Tubes? Make sure you add enough distilled water to make roughly 80-90% of the beads are clear. As you have already been told, I really do not trust analog hygrometers at all. I have found alot of them to be inaccurate and non linear...

    Temp controlled humi

The people that invest in a cooled cabinet are generally fighting temperatures that are too high. I know that prior to building my cooled cabinet I could have temperatures that exceeded 80 degrees in my old cabinet and this is not really good for the cigars. Getting the temp back down to 70 was...
