CIGARS ARE BAD FOR YOUR HEALTH

I get a lot of Vitamin N from my smokes.

    Friggin mold

Sorry. Right. Removed the cello and ribbon.

    Friggin mold

I had this happen on a fiver of Sharks from '07. I smoked one, took the cedar off the rest, wiped them down and the remaining 4 have been fine ever since. Personally, I would never leave the cedar on another Anejo - period.

    Where's the "OFF" button?

I reached a certain equilibrium once I bought my third desktop humidor.

    2009 tobacco tax proposals

It's worth pointing out that a lot of things get proposed and fewer get enacted, and many of those that do are modified significantly. That's just the legislative process. Any idiot legislator (and there are plenty of them) can file a bill. Having said that, there is a trend that is somewhat...

    Cparker Rocks Huge

I happened to mention in a reply to an Illusione review that the Holy Lance is on my must-try list and Cparker posts that he'd be happy to scratch that very itch. Little did I know, however, that he'd send a HL, a cg:4, a Pepin lancero and a couple more tagalongs. I'm overwhelmed by your...

    What's your favorite wrapper?

Perish the thought! I love corojo and probably have more of those in my collection than anything. But I also enjoy Ecuadorian Sumatra, maduro, cammies, and even the occasional broadleaf. Variety, variety, variety.

Bethesda Tobacco's New Location Grand Opening

Rats. What a day to be stuck downtown. No way I can get there before 6-7. Probably nothing left but rich Tat smoke in the air at that point.

    On this day in 1962

It's actually Oscar Robertson - not Robinson. But, yeah, he was amazing. Magic before Magic.

    What's your favorite wrapper?

I agree with a lot of the previous posts. My preferences seem to wax and wane, in some cases depending on the season. For example, I love cameroons but find that they split ferociously when the weather turns cold. I even had a slight split in one recently that I was smoking in my garage. That...

    Bolivar Gold Medal

Looks delicious. But what's with the green spots on the Bolis? I had a CE last weekend that had a few as well. Didn't seem to affect the burn, taste or anything. Just curious.

    Ashton Lovers

This does sound like one to try. I'm not a huge Connie fan either, but something that combines the smoothness of the Classic with the depth/body of the VSG should be a keeper. I haven't even seen these marketed before.

Work sucks, so I guess I'll do a GIVEAWAY

Just what we need - a math major. I'll guess 360, as in the degrees in a circle. Thanks for the contest and best wishes that things will turn around for you work-wise.

    Just wanted to wish everyone...

Where I come from, it's a day for doughnuts. Happy day to all - whether it's pancakes or king cakes or whatever. And also a good Lent.

We got God on our side.

I read that he smoked Macanudos during seminary. One can hope that his tastes have matured since then, shall we say? Either way, he sounds like a real salt-of-the-earth guy.

    CC maduros?

I'm not that familiar with ISOMs, but wonder why I see few reviews of maduros. Are there fewer made by Cuban producers or are they less favored than natural-wrapped cigars? Frankly, the few I've had with natural wrappers could convince me never to smoke another maduro anyway. Just curious.

Padron Anniversary Series 1964 Piramides Natural

Love the review. I happen to have one of these resting and now am even more eager to smoke it. I've only had the 1926 No. 6 in the Anni line and thought it was fantastic with a more subtle blend of flavor than the maduro. Have to say, though, that nothing beats a 1964 Imperial maduro.

Casa Magna vs Joya de Nicaragua Antaño 1970

I have to agree with this (sorry Andy). Once upon a time, I enjoyed the consul. But I tried a belicoso recently and it was just harsh. If you like a smaller cigar with a little punchy - like the consul -- I recommend the La Aroma de Cuba corona minor, which seems to have a little more smoothness...

    Illusione ECCJ

I'm itching to try the Holy Lance, but availability seems to be an issue. I enjoy smaller ring gauges and have heard this is a good example. Any fans of this vitola in the Illusione line?

    JFR Cigars?

The corojo is a very nice cigar. Reminds me of the Pepin JJ, smooth and nutty flavor. Plus I like the pigtail and unfinished foot. Can't find 'em around here, however. And I'm down to my last one, egads.
