    Help. Bloom or Mold?

That's either mold or some variety of fur-bearing tobacco.

    Cigar Shops in Richmond

I'm driving down to Richmond tomorrow for the day and wondered if anyone knows of a good B&M in center city. TIA for any help.

Pete Johnson @ Holts in Philly

Nice swag. And sounds like some nice deals. Those Angeles are my favorite in that line.

    Holt's on Thursday, Feb. 5th

I had the pleasure of meeting Pete at an event that Curtis Draper's did in DC last year. Very unassuming guy. We chatted about Tat Havanas. He said his favorite was the angeles - which is mine as well. Maybe he says that all the guys, but I loved it. Enjoy.

    Atlantic Cigar deal

I got the same deal on OWR corojos. Received mine the next day after I ordered well-packed and in terrific shape.

    Don Pepin Blue Label

Thanks for the review. It mirrors my experience with the DPG blues, though I've only had the imperiales size. They are a treat.

Stef says he's a little slow today!

Can anyone who has tried the Essencias opine about them please?

    Beads Question

Ah, then I DO understand what he meant. I'll just give the humi and myself a rest!

    Beads Question

I gotta admit, I have no idea what that means. As to reading, I've done a fair amount of diving into threads here and elsewhere - including Heartfelt's website. And I feel I've ruled out the usual suspects. If it were a seal or that the humidor wasn't properly seasoned (for example), why would...

    Beads Question

I've followed all the specs. And have had zero trouble with seal or hygro (factoring in the 5% deviation - which has been consistent) and the humi holds RH very well unless it's winter and the ambient air turns very dry. So I'm kinda mystified. I'll add more distilled water to the beads and see...

    Whats Your Latest Puchase

Snagged a bundle of RP Olde World Reserve corojo toros for the amazing price of $89.95. Really like these things.

    Beads Question

Yep. Salt tested it about 1 month ago. It was 5% off (analog), which I've factored into the before/after readings.

    Beads Question

Leave it alone for a few days! Can you do that? I have opened it a few times to take a peek at the hygro, but only briefly. If it continues, I'll try the overwetting or shot glass suggestions. Thanks for the help - you guys have helped calm my fears.

    Beads Question

Don't think so because it only dipped low recently - typical winter low-humidity story. After fooling with this for several years I finally decided to get the beads. Just puzzled why it hasn't equalized. The humidor seems to hold RH well and is fully stocked.

    It's Alive...

Well, I'm on both and still use both but find more of my time and attention is being spent here and I can see that only increasing. CS was my first bulletinboard experience and still a soft spot for it, but I was/am not happy with the changes.

    Beads Question

Got some Heartfealt 65% beads this weekend (ordered Thursday p.m., arrived Saturday morning!). Here's my question. I stuck some in my main desktop humidor, which had been running around 58%, and the humidity actually dropped to around 55% before recovering a bit to about where it had been...

    Ideal Humidity

Ah, yes. Just discovered the Humidor category and some helpful threads. Sorry for the trouble, folks.

    Ideal Humidity

I salt-tested the hygrometer on my main desktop humidor and discovered that my cigars were at about 61%. I'm wondering what folks think is the ideal humidity and whether I'm pushing it with a reading that low? Also, is it better to keep it at a constant level, even low, rather than raise it to...

    DC HERF 2009

Andy: Regrettably, I will not be able to make the HERF due to an impromptu 80th birthday party for my mother-in-law. No cigars, but at least they're serving cocktails! Anyway, hope to catch you again in the near future and please offer my regrets to everyone - and smoke one for me. keith

Medium-full that doesn't make your head spin

Another vote for the LFD Liguro Oscuro Cabinet. Very nice cigar with just the right oomph. Also any Padron maduro. My personal recommendation would be the Churchill in the regular line, which smokes nice and cool and is flavorful yet much cheaper than the Anni lines. Good luck.
