I love the Tat cazadores. Few months ago, I got 15 of them at $6.50 apiece on the Famous closeout page. That's my kinda deal.
I also look for DPG JJs or Blue imperiales on the Joe's Daily deal.
Finally, my favorite B&M (OVTC in Northern Va.) frequently has events in which they discount...
I may adjust the ol' budget accordingly. We'll see if it affects prices on online cigar auction sites. I don't buy too many boxes anyway and am a bargain hunter.
Andy:
I'm about 90% sure I can attend, though I might need to arrive/leave early. Look forward to meeting the DC area crew. Also looking forward to smoking indoors!

Personally, I have had zero problems with RP construction. That's mostly Vintage 92s, but also a couple of Olde World Reserves and Connecticuts. Always straight and have never unraveled or plugged or anything that could be attributed to construction.
I'm not sure it makes that much difference either. I have noticed that some cigars burn more slowly and straight when the ash is allowed to accumulate. However, that may say more about the cigar's construction than about the ash's influence on the burn.
Sometimes I do it because it just looks...
Holy cow, I can't imagine smoking one of these in the morning. Are these the Cabinet oscuros? Looks kinda dark from the pictures. I've recently become enamored of them, esp the little L250s, which are a nice little smoke chockful of flavor.
Enjoyed this review.
These are underappreciated, IMO. I pick up a kind of caramel taste - maybe the same thing you described as creamy. But, all in all, a pretty tasty and complex smoke for the price. If you liked the robusto, try the toro size as well.
Thanks for the review.
Yes. Sorry I didn't make that clear. That naturals I've smoked -- all belicosos -- have been sensational. I'm reluctant to try other vitolas in the natural for fear they won't measure up, in fact.
Your questiion also gives me a chance to add something to the review.
I've been wrestling with...
Conditions: 40 degrees and absolutely calm
Location: my front porch
Rating: about a 9 of 10
Ok, I had a pretty crummy ending to my day and really needed a nice smoke. DPG didn't disappoint. Just to give you the highlights: I had a last-minute project dumped on me at work that I have to finish...
Well, we start by going to Midnight Mass, then - after a few hours of sleep - it's up with the boys and dogs for a noisy, chaotic morning around the tree. My wife always makes sticky buns for brunch w/ some kind of special coffee. We usually have a quiet family dinner -- sometimes w/ extended...
Two dogs and a cat. The newest arrival was the 2nd dog - a chocolate Lab puppy named Tucker. He's about 12 weeks old and still working on socialization and house-breaking skills. So I have a lot of early mornings. The other inmates are a 11-year-old yellow Lab named Jake and a 14-year-old black...
Man, have I been there. In fact, right now I'm calling a guy to look at our refrigerator -- which cost almost $2k and is only 2 freakin' years old. You have to laugh or you'll cry.
Odd that. Because the only Shark I've smoked was an 07 and I thought it was supernal. Will have another in a few weeks (I'm smoking one every Christmas until I run out), so will see if they've fared poorly. I did have a slight bit of wrapper mold soon after receiving them (spot here and there)...
