I have to say I am surprised about this community

I did not participate in the Secret Santa event (regrettably), but concur with your thoughts Spivy. This week, I had a BOTL send his end of a trade first even though I'm a newbie around here. Looking forward to many years of good fun here. Thanks all.

    La Aurora Barrel Aged

I had one of these in the corona size a few weeks ago and liked it -- though didn't think it was spectacular. Your description is apt: woody with a hint of sweetness, perhaps from the barrel. For BOTLs in the DC area, Draper's happens to have a special on these through Dec. 15, I think. I think...

    Lito Gomez Diez-Dominican Puro Chisel

I'll have to try these, as I've recently been jazzed by the LFD line (cabinet oscuros in particular). Reminds me that I once had a RP Edge that reminded me of beef jerky. At the time, I hated it. Maybe I should revisit.

    Tatuaje Regios

Definitely makes me want to smoke the Unicos I've had resting in the humidor for 9 months. I've recently fallen in love with the Tat cazadores. It's a nice size for the brown labels and, to me, the most aromatic of the line. (Not sure if it's as good as the Havana VI hermosos, however).

New To Cigars... Looking for Guidance

I didn't have a humidor for years. I'd typically buy a couple singles or maybe 5 at a time. Then I'd smoke one or two on a weekend and leave the rest on a shelf in the bathroom, which typically stayed a little more humid than the rest of the house. Very crude, I know, but the point is it's not...

    LFD Oscuro Question

Wow, the legendary Moki himself. I'm honored. Do you know if the bruising also imparts some unique sweetness or other flavor quality. These are nice cigars either way, just curious about what it does. When I think bruising, I usually think bananas - and that's not necessarily a happy...

What do you guys think of these samplers for sale?

Couple of decent buys there, IMO. But I'm not usually a sampler buyer. I know what I like and tend to buy those, rather than some mixed bunch of cigars that typically includes something I don't want. Different strokes.

    Noob question

Yeah, probably either sun spots or water spots. No harm, no foul either way.

    PAM 64 v. 26

May be a minority opinion, but I prefer the 64s in maduro and the 26s in natural. The 64s are more chocolatey (to me) and the 26s in natty wrapper really capture that smooth, nuttiness. Still, I'll never turn down either in either wrapper. I'm no fool. :)

Padrón porn for you Padrón sluts

Honestly, is there anything lovelier than a PAM in its natural habitat?

    Cubao

Well, to each his own, I guess. I smoked the beli and loved it and bought some more. Not terribly complex, but very nice warm, nutty/toasty flavor to me.

Wow I just got my butt kicked

Same thing happened to me when I smoked a chiselito one Saturday afternoon in the summer sun and on an upset stomach. Worst cigar experience of my life. I've since grown to enjoy fuller cigars, but know under which conditions to tackle the baddest of the bad boys. I have a chisel resting in my...

    LFD Oscuro Question

Here's one for the good of the order. I attended an LFD event at a local B&M recently and ended up in a discussion with the company rep about the Cabinet oscuros, which I happen to enjoy. He said that the aging process, in addition to the usual fermenting, involves some sort of bruising of the...

DPG Serie JJ Belicoso 10/ 39.99

And this is why Joe can afford to do these deals... I went for 20 of the JJs but resisted tacking on other stuff. Seriously, this is the best deal I've seen from Joe in a while. Never tried these, but figure I'll like them - and if I don't, I can sell cheaply to a fellow BOTL and pass along the...

    Pre Order NUB's Now!

I tend to agree that I'd like to try a torp sampler first. Anybody who's tried the cammies: how do they compare to Oliva and the Leon Jimenez 2001 Cameroon -- which is my favorite. Thanks.
