Went to WalMart and got a digital hygro and started the test over in a gallon freezer bag. Hopefully the new meter will turn out better than the original.

Well, overnight, the humidity dropped a little to 53%. I am starting to wonder if my hygro is just crap or if the bag might have a hole in it somewhere or what is going on. Gonna check while i am out today and see if I can find another hygro (local B&M was out of them) and reset the salt test...

Well, 5 hours into the salt test and I am still sitting at 55%. Should be closer to stable now, right? Is it possible that I put too little water in the salt? I put 1 tsp. in a coke bottle lid and added just a wee bit o' water to make it look like wet sand and sealed the zip lock bag. Too...

Well, 3.5 hours into the salt test and the hygro is sitting at 55. And, the shot glass with distilled water is sitting in the humidor with the humidifier.

That is the humidifier that came with it. Would you guys leave that one or should I look into these 'beads' that you guys talk about so much?

Anyone had any experience with this humidor? Got it at my local B&M for $45 (after tax). Doing the salt test now to ensure accuracy.
