Somewhere in the past year or two I tried a CAO la Traviata. It did not distinguish itself enough from other CAOs, imho. A serviceable smoke, however. I find the Olivas to be an inexpensive replacement for Padron. They taste almost the same to me. I had hoped that the San Cristobal Seleccion...

There was an event at Holts a while back(2 mos.?), and the rep did say something along this line. I thought it was in the past, but maybe it was a current situation, of which he spoke. Quality should be more important than quantity for this brand. Chemyst :cool:

You just need to try as many different cigars as you can, until you find out the ones you like best. It took me about 2-3 years to narrow the field to a reasonable number, 5-10 different favorites. But I still try new cigars at any time, but not as frequently. I smoke about 3 cigars per week...

For $40 I say go for it! My first humi, a 150 ct., came from an eBay auction. Turned out it's a Thompson, and after I made a gasket to seal it better, it holds rh very well. Used it for 5 yrs. now. In fact, I use it for my high end Fuentes, like OpusX, Ashton VSG/ESG, Anejos, Don Carlos and...

Nearly every year I find something in the bottom of my humi(s) that turns out to be an excellent, but somehow overlooked, smoke. Last year it was a La Riqueza. I usually end up getting a box of them, if they're still available. :whistling: Chemyst :cool:

VT28TEDS... the best investment I ever made for my cigars. Period! I use 1/2# of beads on the top, and 1/2# on the bottom in very shallow trays to maximize surface area. I also have 2oz. tubes in each double high drawer. (I have 2 of chasden's, too) Total beads about 1.25#. Never a problem...

Both of my humis have glass doors. One is a vertical desktop, and all you see are the drawers and hygrometer inside. The other is a Vinotemp. Neither is in a public part of my house, so not 'on display'. I really like being able to check the rh without opening the units. Chemyst :cool:

IMHO, because of the economy sales of cigars are down overall. Even the higher end smokes like Anejo are suffering, ergo there seems to be more supply. Holts had ample supplies of OpusX and Anejo a week or so ago. That's unusual for the post-holiday period. Chemyst :cool:

The #60 is not a common size. It's unusual to find an Anejo sampler of so many different sizes. Chemyst :cool:

Picked up a fiver of LP No.9s and LP T52s at a local event on Friday. A couple of BOTLs added to that score by hitting me with a Tat Anarchy, a Dirty Rat, an Illusione Epernay, a Tat 7th Reserva and a CC, as well as two Flor Fina 858 with different wrappers, and a DCM robusto. I don't know why...

I was gifted a Tat Anarchy on Friday. Also acquired a Tat Red Tubo, Drac and a Black at various times. Looks like I have some 'new' stuff to try during my spring vacation in Atlantic City! I enjoyed the Tat Havana VI line, but always felt the hype surrounding Tat can't be completely warranted...
