I think a lot of the time, they don't want to do the work and price it WAY high. If the customer wants to pay, then they'll do it. Otherwise, it's a FU price, to just get the customer their quote and on to the next one.

Yep, the worst part was getting the hub off/out of the knuckle. I wasn't reusing the old hub, so I was able to strategically hammer it off. The other hard part, was getting the old ball joint out of the lower control arm. PITA all the way around. Hardest part of the brake jobs, is always...

Replaced a wheel bearing and hub assembly, lower ball joint and then driver/passenger brake pads on my 2011 Subaru Outback. Now that was frustrating, but happy it's done.
