What's your best cigar this year?

You know the new Juan Lopez number 4 really hit the spot for me this year.

Partagas Serie P No 1 Jars.

I had one of these in Hong Kong last week, it was actually quite good, I'm definitely going to pick up a jar now.

Anyone ever seen a fake "A"?

Just a casual question, been discussing it with a friend. I don't think I've ever seen a fake A, mainly because it's not a newbies cigar and I remember reading at one point that there were very few capable of actually rolling one. What do you guys think?

    Opinion on Cohiba Behike?

My guess from his description would be really young Cohiba that he didn't enjoy. Hard to say what his source was though, I actually had someone give me a fake behike (got from his cousin who works in an LCDH in Switzerland of course!!!) This thing was *okay* looking but the first dead give...

    Opinion on Cohiba Behike?

Hard to imagine a fake would get that grassy taste right

    Presidential Cohibas?

It's probably real, fakes like that are really rare and your source is pretty realistic. Smoke and enjoy

    Question regarding removed serial numbers

So do I, but even the reputable vendors are doing it now.

    Trinidad Fundadores vs Robusto T

The Fundadores and Robusto T's are both great, no brainer to get a mix of both. The Coloniales and Reyes are good too, but they seem to me to be a slightly inferior cigar good for a quick smoke.

    Verging on inappropriate

The only bad box of cigars I've ever received, and I mean horseshit bad, was a box of PSD4's from the same place. In fact I tore one apart for my first post here! It's all grey market parallel importation stuff, and a lot of it's great, some of it's okay and some of it's dog rockets at best...

    IPad - WTF?

Nah, if you went in there and took some time with a floor model and passed on it, then you've pretty much made a good decision. That's what you did right? As I said, it's half useless without the pricey 3G feature anyway.

    IPad - WTF?

It's hard to see how so many people can judge "it's just a...." when they've never actually seen one. Probably less than 20% of people that bought one did not have a laptop and were choosing this over a netbook. It's nothing like an iPod touch, not even in the same realm whatsoever. The app's...

Problems with CC 's and customs

Well I always got "cigars" listed on bandless boxes shipped from Switzerland, but something random on banded boxes. If banded boxes now say that, then you're screwed. My experience is that customs opens 25% or more of boxes labeled cigars.

    08 Trinidad Coloniales

I got a 5er in of them a few months back. All pretty tasty! It's a small smoke, I wouldn't treat it as a real important stick.

    Montecristo bands

That's great info right there. In fact the embossing has (and I think still is) been optional for montecristo cigars since the transition to new bands. The more valuable the stick, I think, the more likely to see embossing. Also, I frequently see the embossing off-centered, they've had a hard...

    Shutter Island

It seemed like the kind of book that was so dependent on the plot line that watching the movie would be boring, i.e. knowing all the twists in advance, was that your perception?

    Oh isn't this just grand...

Here's the crux of the article, if you take smoke residue and bombard it with nitrous acid, then it will release some remnant of the smoke in an airborne form. This should be obvious to anyone right? It's basically pointing out that the residue of marijuana can get you high if you smoke it...

    New CC Due in 2010

There's an obvious general trend at Habanos towards larger ring sizes but I think the situation is a little different with the Behikes. My suspicion is that they needed more leaves in general since they were weaving in the media tiempo leaves and probably didn't want the taste to overpower. A...

James Suckling and US Customs trouble

Sometimes the hard problem is explaining that they don't understand the law without appearing to cop an attitude. The officer has to maintain control of the situation and when they say "Hey, it's illegal" and you say "Sorry, here's a printout of the law." It's a tough situation and it can be...

    Damaged cigars at delivery

Man, i can't believe you've missed out on photobucket and flickr??????????????????? In all seriousness, I get that all the time with the heads being dented, you cut them anyway, the other cracking is a problem though.

Cohiba Siglo III Real/Fake w/ Pics

That's actually an amazing catch. I thought it was pretty obvious that you're not going to see a Cohiba band with the outside right end of the label wound all the way around to the Cohiba (instead of in the middle of the back). But I had never thought of the fact that as many screwed up Cohiba...
