thanks. it says to wait 3 days before adding cigars, and even another day or two. The humidor I bought comes with 8 cigars, should I be worried about them drying out before I can put them in the humidor?

Well I wanted to jump on that 20 capacity humidor with 8 cigars included, it would have probably took me awhile to find a deal like that locally. Also since the humidor is larger then the little hygrometer, I feel like I'm getting my moneys worth with $5 shipping, where as I would have to pay...

I looked on amazon and the caliber digital has the best and most ratings. I'd like to find it in a store so I don't have to pay shipping. Or maybe another brand of digital hydrometer I could find locally.

Ok, so don't get an analog. Can I find the Western Caliber III Digital at any local places? like walmart, sears, target...?

Are analog hygrometers not accurate because I could save a bit of money getting analog instead of digital. So when I buy distilled water, can I store it in the plastic bottle because normally if you keep water in a plastic bottle the water will have a funny taste to it. Thanks for all the help!

so is the black thing on the humidor lid just a case with a some sponge in it? can I take the sponge or whatever is in it out and put in the beads your talking about? BTW: I do appreciate all the advice, i just don't want to spend much money right now until I am fully certain about cigars.

I looked at some tupperware while I was in walmart today, it was hard to tell if it was air tight. I think I might get one of the humidors you guys mentioned, its only $20 so if it turns out to be too small I'll give it or sell it to my buddy. The humidifier that comes with it, what do I do...

I might do that after I've used them for at least a month. CVS has the ronson butane but I heard its not good quality and it cost $3.50, the can was a little smaller then a beer bottle. I thought the lighters would come empty but I guess they are full.

I just went to walmart supercenter and they didn't have the ronson jetlite. the checkout girl said someone was in asking for them yesterday and she said they sell out as soon as they get more in. so then I went to win dixie and they don't carry them at all. last stop I went to CVS pharmacy...

i'll look into a tupperware humidor. I doubt I would outgrow a 15-20 capacity humidor anytime soon, I'll be smoking once or twice a week. Would the plastic smell stay with the cigars because that wouldn't be fun. Would I just put a wet paper towel in there or what? even if I got a $15-20...
