    CRA Update: Victory In Pennsylvania!

I live in NY, but most of my non-cuban purchases are made in PA. I agree with the majority that's it's only a matter of time before they push the tax thru. They might save a few government jobs, but those retailers and all the businesses that support them (think UPS/USPS, office supply and...

    The Other Half

I'm lucky in that the my wife doesn't give me grief about my cigars. A few years ago I might have tried to please her, but now I don't think I would. I suppose an issue for health could be made, but in moderation they're probably not any worse for us than other things people do on a daily basis...

New York Tobacco Tax, A Call To Action

It's politically correct to pick the pockets of smokers. The local B&M is just hanging on. They're only open 3 days a week and aren't making any money. The owners have other jobs a basically do it for fun. Someday soon I expect to see a going out of business sign on the door. Over 99% of my...

    Want to get a smoker

www.virtualweberbullet.com - That's a great site that has just about everything you need (or want) to know about the WSM. When I got my bullet a few years ago I just started out with their recipies and operating suggestions and then tweeked them to my liking. The Minion method works great for...

    San Cristobal Murallas

Enjoy, Those sure look good. I had a La Punta this evening and was just thinking it may be time to reload. These command a premium over the regular line and I'm afraid I may like them too much. The regular San Cristobals are solid performers from what I've had a chance to sample.

    Today's Smoke II

Started today with a CAO Brazalia Gol while mowing,I then had a San Cristobal La Punta while grilling dinner, and I think a RP Decade is on deck for later tonight.

    just discovered cigarbid!

I've bought my fair share there over the years. I check out the forums often, but I don't think I've won anything there in about 9 months or so. There's been a few tempting lots, but not enough to sucker me in. Like somebody else mentioned most of the stuff I smoke now I do just as well or...

Why do all my cigars go bad?

If you put PG solution on heartfelt beads they are most likely ruined. Buy more (65%) and only use distilled water. Most of us here prefer a RH reading in the 62-65% range. In my opinion 70% is too high and will result in crappy burns/tastes like you've described in a lot of cigars. I was...

It's been happening to me also for at least a month. It always works on the 2nd try though.

    Today's Smoke II

The only CAO America I've smoked was on july 4th a few years ago. It sucked also. Yesterday was a R&J Tubo #3 followed by a Boli Belicosos Finos. Today started with a Cohiba Red Dot Robosto, the a SLR Series A and I finshed it off with a RP Edge Maduro Toro

    Graycliff Chateau Gran Cru

On Cigarbid a few years ago I saw a guy win a box of the Presidentes for $136. I took a swing at them, but at the time I was maxed out for storage space so I let them go with only one bid. I still kick myself for not going after them with more zeal. I agree that MSRP is overpriced and...

CC are they realy worth it?

Some say Cubans are worth it and some say not. You might want to concentrate your efforts and limited funds on Non-Cubans for a while.

    1997 VR Famosos

I've got a box from FEB 08 of these. First one I smoked about 2 weeks after delivery tasted green and tannic to me. I had one a month later and thought it was very good althought I don't remember exact flavors. Construction/burn was good on both. I've been sitting on the others and haven't...

    The Importance of Packing

"If it fits it ships!" As to legality of shipping cigars I suspect some postal employees may be confusing cigars with cigarettes. If I'm not mistaken individuals can't ship cigarettes via USPS since they figure they were probably aquired via means that weren't subject to state/federal taxes.

    Good/Bad News

Glad you and your family are alright. You can replace things, but not people. Those picture look pretty intense. This does tend to make you think about what really matters in life.

    The Importance of Packing

I've never had a problem shipping cigars via USPS, but I've heard other people say they've been told you can't ship them. I just don't tell them what's in the box. Many vendors in the states offer USPS priority mail as a shipping option so I think whoever is saying no cigars in the mail...

You can not smoke in your backyard or I'll Sue!

In our previous house the neibhor (whom also happened to be a co-worker) would complain about my cigar smoke. She never did it to me but she would complain thru other people and then I would have to listen to it thru 3rd parties. We were in a development, but the houses certainly werem't on...
