I love 888 Anejos. I grabbed a box of the OR 2 years ago and it is still tucked away. My plan is to wait 5 years before smoking, but that is getting difficult.

I had a Room 101 Daruma Gold Lancero this evening. They have definitely improved after napping for 18 months. Very enjoyable with a cup of coffee and a Cardinal 8-5 victory over the Astros.

The Cheerful Insanity of Giles Giles and Fripp. I used to have a NM red vinyl Japanese original pressing of this. But now only have a well done burned copy of that pressing on CD.

Hangin around here reading the audio and music posts motivated me to fire up the old fire bottles. Been warmed up for about 45 minutes while listening to the Allman Brothers Eat a Peach while enjoying a glass of iced tea and a RASS. Life is good.

I tried using a 3 watt SET amp with my high efficiency Altec 17's (604-8g) speakers and while it sounded pretty good they left and I went back to my McIntosh MC40 monos. I missed the headroom. I have not upgraded for about 7 years, but if I did it would be the preamp.

That's a hard thing to do right the first time. And I 2nd @MadMonk suggestion to go listen to as much different gear as you can only to realize it will sound different when set up in your room. Audiophiles are known to upgrade, so there is used on the market to save some money. I never could...

I did a little multitasking on the patio this evening with a '12 Monte #4 while protecting the garden from the squirrels with my pellet gun. Sometimes life gets tough.

I think my oldest is from 2002. A high percentage (90% have 2-7 years) of rest and age. The only cigars that I am intentionally aging is Opus X and Anejos. I rarely buy cigars any more as I have doubts about living long enough to enjoy the cigars I have. Time will tell.
