    Newbie Pipe Packs!

I don't know if it's normal but I certainly have that problem as well. For me, the bowl smokes great with one or two relights until the last 1/3 to 1/4 at the end. Then it's relight, smoke a few puffs, relight again. It's rather irritating and if I wasn't breaking my pipes in at the moment I...

Really sorry to hear that. :(

    Cabaiguan Robustos Extra

these cigars are on the milder-medium side and I think some people just don't like that. These aren't anything like a Tatuaje, pretty much the opposite. If you like milder flavorful cigars that don't hit you over the head with flavor but are more subtle and refined you should give them a try...

The Best Pipe and Cigar Combo

Last night I smoked a bowl of Boswell's Burly. I wanted to smoke more after but since I don't have enough pipes yet in my rotation I decided to smoke a cigar. An Illusione MK. I enjoyed them both but didn't consider it a good match. Really mismatched actually but it was nice that the...

    Burly recomendations?

I've been smoking a lot of Boswell's Burly and really enjoying it, it's the only Burly I have tried so far and I wanted to pick up a few new ones to try. What do you Burly smokers out there suggest? I've heard C&D makes some good Burly but I'm not sure where to start.

    Buying From Ebay

I bought one on ebay years ago and I guess I got lucky because it's a good one. It was from a guy who said he had quit smoking cigars and was selling his collection and humidor. The cigars were not so great ( they did all have about five to ten years on them he said, and the crusty yellow...

    Boswell update

It's incredible how fast the best ones sell. I really like pipe no.11 the "smooth Prince". Whoever got that one is lucky. A2 the "Boswell Egg" is nice also. I'm not too fond of the jumbo pipes though. It says another update tomorrow! Sat. March 15th

The Evil Dr. Moki's Group Blind Taste Test #1

Very enjoyable. Thanks for the links! Moki, you should challenge Willy Alvero to a blind tast test. And be sure to add one of those Cabaiguan WCD's.

The Evil Dr. Moki's Group Blind Taste Test #1

But one must ask the question, if there is nothing in reality that can point to a cigar being Cuban, no characteristics that they tend to have in common that non-Cubans would usually lack, you gotta wonder, why does everyone say these are Cuban in blind tests? And the fact that they actually...

Don Pepin Garcia El Centurion Guerreros

I agree that it is a bit mild, but too mild? not really. I love a mild cigar just as much as a full bodied one, it just takes a different mood or time of day. I would just like to see that funky sour taste go away and see what's lurking underneath.

    What's in your pipe today?

I am smoking Boswell's Burly today as well, smoked it yesterday too. Love the stuff! My favorite pipe tobacco so far.

    The Holly Grail

Good points Eric, and I also look forward to cellaring my favorite pipe tobaccos as soon as I figure out what they are. It's all so cheap and I hope it remains that way! I'm a bit leery of ebay but I guess it's rather easy to age pipe tobacco and that makes it easier to be confident about...

    The Holly Grail

So what would you pipe smokers out there consider the holly grail of pipe tobacco? Being new to this it's hard for me to make out what is highly coveted among aficionados. What would be the equivalent of say, a Cuban Davidoff? Or if that is too hard how about the equivalent of readily...

    Reborn into Briar

Well said Eric. I just recently got onto pipes and I have totally fallen in love. I was wondering who bought that particular Boswell. I thought about buying it myself but I went with the churchwarden (pipe no.1 on the site.) I just bought a nice Bjarne today. For those in Chicago, UpDown is...

Cigar etiquette vs your personal habits.

Believe me, the last thing I want to be is a "brute", but I just feel stupid throwing a perfectly good cigar away especially when, in a lot of cases, it's reaching it's best part. That said, in public I would smoke it a lot less farther than I would at home.

    Aging Pepin Blends. Winner announced!

Well, for the most part they haven't been around long enough to really say what will happen with some deep aging. The oldest ones are what, like five/six years old? Correct me if I'm wrong. The Tatuajes and Don Pepin brands are my favorites and it will be another five years until we really...
