They are still translucent and the black is the bowl they are in.

    moldy beads

1/2 of them are still wet. I dont see the mold any longer. I dont think anything can live in 40% hydrogen peroxide. well see.

    moldy beads

Well they just took a 2 hour soak in 40% hydrogen peroxide and near distilled water (99% total disolved solids removed) then rinsed for another hour and are currently bleaching in the AZ sun. They are turning white pretty quickly so I assume they are "working". I did this a once but the got...

    moldy beads

    1) distilled only from my own bottle (not used for anything else) 2) used bowl. It was clean :) 3) twice a week. I open the humidor lid every day. 4) I add water as soon as I notice the humitity drop. I add water right to the dish. I think this is my issue.

Thanks Guys. We are staying at the south end of the island at the Hyatt Regency. I have The Ultimate Guide to Kauai (looks like they are written by a husband and wife team ...gezz, what a life) as well as frommers book. I don’t have a good travel humidor so I was just going to do a Tupperware...

    Going to Kauai / Hawaii

The wife and I are going to Kauai for a week (next week) and I wondered if anyone had any suggestions as to what to do or not do. I want to do the usually stuff like the helicopter tour and a few hours of fishing while she does the spa thing but then…? I thought there was a regular here from...

New guy ask what happened? With pics.

I am new to the hobby and have a quick question. I have a humidor and use the 75% beads. The humidity stays around 73%. Every cigar I have smoked has been a fine experience except this one. Within just a few draws it started to crack and unravel. Was it handled poorly before I got it? Or just a...

    how cold is to cold?

No, I am confused, thats why I am here. :p I do not want to stop the aging. I am wondering if being in the cold in a sealed container will stop the aging.

    how cold is to cold?

That was the point of the pelican case it is waterproof/air tight. Will that stop the aging?

    how cold is to cold?

I bought some yar-gars that have a very faint ammonia odor. This is because they are a little young? I have some pelican containers I have never used and wonder if I could throw some beads in there along with the cigars and put them in the garage beer fridge. Its cold, around 38 degrees. Will...

    "real" cedar humidor. Bad idea?

Very good. Thats what I needed to know. Is aromatic cedar the only taboo wood? I mean other than manufactured woods. Much thanks Les

    "real" cedar humidor. Bad idea?

I have a couple of "real" cedar chests that I have no use for in their current form. They are 40+ years old and still have that strong cedar smell. Is it worth the hassle to line them with Spanish cedar and convert them to humidors or will that strong smell permeate and kill my cigars? Thanks Les

    Humidor Modifications

Hi! I am brand new here but have been interested in a project like this. My way would defiantly be the dumbed down version. I threw a quick project together and you do get a nice spread. Looks like about 20-25 degrees. My cost is 2 used Peltiers (30mmx30mm) $14 from *bay delivered, (I only used...
