    High Humidity

I would suggest re-calibrating your hygrometer with the salt test. make sure it's accurate. Then buy some more cigars. It'll be hard to keep the humidity stable with a near empty humidor.

    Drawer Humidors

If you really want a cedar lining, you can go ask your local shop for some empty boxes, break them up and glue the pieces to the sides. You don't have to cover everything. The boxes will do the trick though.

Can a cooledor be too full?

Having the Collerdor full just increases the stability of the RH in the box. Over time, the cigars and boxes normalize to a stable RH. When you open the lid, the air in the empty space gets replaced with whatever RH Air is in your room. It's only the contents and the lining of the box that...

    Where to Smoke

I was thinking good insulation and one of those little ceramic disk heaters would do the trick. I'm in GA so it gets cold, but rarely below freezing. The foundation is definately the way to go but does add to the expense. It might also cause issues with building permits, zoning, etc (being a...

The "Of Course I can READ!" Pass

If you will accept a newbie, I'll go in. I have a nice inventory of both books and 'Gars. You can put me on the end and by the time it gets to me I won't be a newbie any-more. Let me know and I'll PM the details. Anything you are looking for? Happy to do a quick trade to show I'm...

    Smoking Room

I just started a new thread on the ultimate smoking room. I've been dreaming of building something like this for years and like what this guy did as a home-office. Take a look... http://www.cigarpass.com/forumsipb/index.php?showtopic=4523&hl= As far as my wife is concerned... You pick your...

    Where to Smoke

Many of us have problems finding a nice place to smoke in cold weather. The wives don't appreciate us stinking up the house and the cold weather and shivering takes away from the smoking experience when we smoke outside. I found a great solution that I might just try myself. Take a look at...

    Shopping Spree

I'm currently traveling internationally and have an opty to pass through Paris and pick up some ISOMs on my way back. I'm looking to stock up and would appreciate some suggestions. I have tried several brands but certainly not all of them. My tastes run toward strong cigars with a cull...

    Cuaba

Personally, I like them. A little on the mild side for me but very enjoyable. I bought a box a couple of months ago and am over half way through them. I do agree with the 'woody taste' comment. Construction on my box is very good with a nice draw and even burn. nice, tight roll. All said...

    Smoking Room

I'm envious. I have dreams of a smoking apartment in a seperate little house. The carpet issue seems to have to do with the oils in the cigars. As you smoke, the carpet fibers absorb them, as do the walls, etc. Cleaning helps some but not completely. The throw-away rug sounds like a good...

    Smoking Room

Some more suggestions: - If you have central air/heating, you'll have to tape up the vents/returns - Weatherstrip the doors - Sears has a nice little fan that will sit in a window and vent outward. Creating a negative pressure in the room will keep most of the smoke in or out the window. - A...

    burn prob.

Patience..... You've got to let them sit for a week or two to normalize back to proper humidity through and through. Can't say I always have patience, that's when a good torch lighter comes in handy. Just even the burn out and you're all set. :)

    newbie question

Also, if you have different types of cigars, you can use Cedar seperators to keep the flavors from mixing too much. Put your Mild cigars on one side and the strong/full bodies cigars on the other.

    Smoking Room

I've tried it and no matter what I try, the wife still complains of the smell. It'll leak out whatever you do. As an alternative, try to find a local Cigar Shop with nive leather chairs, a big screen TV and a friendly staff. That's been my solution for the winter. That or lots of winter...

    CAO Brazilia

I've been really impressed with the CAO Brasilia line. Nice thick ring gauges and puts out a nice smoke cloud. Tastes great too.
