    RASS/ 2000

Try to give that 2000 RASS another year if you have the patience. One of the best 5-year-old island Robustos you'll ever smoke. They need 4-5 years to reach their full potential.

    Cuban Rum

Good to see a rum thread....my beverage of choice with a cigar. For the money, HC Anejo Reserva is a better bet, IMHO. When I go to Mexico, I will drink this neat, or mixed, depending upon my mood. Not that there's anything wrong with HC7, it's just a taste preference. Outside the Cuban...

CIGARS THAT HAVE KICKED YOUR @&#36&#36!

I distinctly remember 4 cigars that kicked my ass... First one that comes to mind was an OpusX RdC...about three years ago...I needed fresh air. Second, an OpusX Power Ranger that was original batch, gifted to me by Art Sosa. Wow...that packed a punch. Had many since, none like that one...

Anyone done a hygro calibration with a Humidipak?

I had a cigar with the guys from Humidipak today (they are from Minnesota as well), and I guess I should have asked them...but here goes...feedback appreciated. It has occured to me that another easier hygrometer calibration is in a sealed bag with a couple of humidipak pouches. I know that...

How long to wait before smoking cigars just in?

If I get a box of aged smokes, I generally go with a minimum of 2 weeks before I sample. I crack the box open to humidify or dehumidify to 64%. Smokin' em too early after I get them, I tend to get overhumidified tobacco that doesn't draw well.

    Best ISOM in your opinion

IF I HAD TO PICK 3: 98 Trinis are awesome...complex, classic 97 Lusis - excellent aged RASS - with 5 years on 'em, they are superb...one of the most enjoyable smokes I've ever had. Honorable mentions to: BBF Punch Punch Cobiha Lancero - when they are on, they are ON! One more to smack you in...

Jim...good to see you here as well! ABV...don't really have a problem with the sliding door, as it has a pretty decent felt seal anyway...and the set-n-forget takes care of any discrepencies in humidity. I glance at the digital hygrometer once a day, and it runs right on the nuts at 64%. When...

Helloooooo from Minnesota - new to CP

AVB - I have a Stewart-Beckwith 38-special (http://stewart-beckwith.com/wall3.htm) so space is not an issue. I use a Set-n-Forget to keep everything about 64 +/-1%, because I prefer the draws and aging at that level.
