Adjusting Humidor from 70% to 65%

Hmmm... The simplest thing to do if you have forced air heat is just put your beads over a heat register with the heat on for a hour or so. Works great and your beads will be dry and suck up all the excess humidity much faster. Works great for me!!

    Looking for Perfect Cigar

H.Upmann's Corona Major, Fonseca delicias are great medium smokes for the money. I also have a sensitive throat, and I've found it very helpful to always drink a favorite beverage such as coffee or juice which coats my throat and protects it. It also adds to the cigar smoking experience. :D :D

New title: A little help please!

Smokelaw, I can't say I've ever heard anyone have a problem with the seal on their cooler. However, I alway open and close the ones I buy and make sure they whoosh!!! as they close with a tight seal. One way to test to see if the seal is the problem is take a large plastic bag like a 77...

    Ive got BEETLES!

Yep, that's about the same procedure I use as well. Never had a problem with split wrappers or changes in quality. It is really not that big of a deal as long as you freeze your sticks as they come in a few boxes at a time. Freezing 30-50 boxes would be a hassle so the key is freeze your...

    Ive got BEETLES!

I can relate. A beetle outbreak makes you a real believer in freezing your smokes before you put them in the old coolerdor. Ask me how I know. What some people don't realize is that the beetles can hatch at temperatures as low as 65 degrees if the conditions are right. So even if you are...

    Pure Scumbag Part 2

Theft at construction is reaching epidemic proportions nationwide. Last month they hit our site and not only stole over 20K of tools and equipment but also got away with over 130K of building materials...framing lumber, OSB ply, millwork etc... I flat out don't leave any personal tools on site...

New title: A little help please!

Hmmm... I think you are taking your intial set-up humidity too seriously. I am now on cooler number two and they are the bigger 152 qt marine igloo's. Make sure your hygrometer is propertly calibrated and just fill the sucker up with all your cigars. It will be much easier to stabilize your...

    The Best Humidifier

Hmmmm... Sounds like a lot of messing around compared to my experience with the beads which are really not that expensive in comparison. I don't see how anything could be more maintenace free and easier than the beads to use but to each their own. I only have to spray a bit of distilled water...

    maximum humidy

Nrotik, You may want to consider drying you beads out if they are not absorbing any moisture. I dry my beads out by placing over the heater register of my furnace for a awhile and they are back to all white. You also may not have enought beads to control the amount of space you are trying to...

    Need new & larger humidor...

Ask and ye shall receive!! :p :p The interior dimensions of the 152 Qt Igloo are roughly 16 inches wide by 16 inches tall by 37 inches long. As far as number of boxes that is hard to say since there are so many different sizes and shapes. Better just to think in terms of volume of storage...

Havana Cigars! Intact Shipping to North America

You will typically find the best prices and, in my opinion, comparable quality at duty free or low tax locations with favorable currency exchange rates to the US dollar. Since they don't have to pay the tax they pass on the savings to the consumer. The most competitive business model is to...

    What would you all do?

Wow this Jacksi character is a real piece of work. I think I see why he may have some health issues. Even a newbie like me, wouldn't send $150.00 worth of sticks without at least a DC or better yet insurance for an extra buck or so. He also keeps saying he has a receipt but has anyone...
