I'm going to throw my cigars in an airtight plastic container and reseason my humidor. does anyone know if I can put a bead of caulk or wax around the glass top to ensure it is sealed?

It took roughly a week to season my humidor. I placed a small ceramic bowl with distilled water in the bottom of the humidor. I purchased the digital hygrometer along with a test kit and it was pretty accurate from the get-go. I retested my hygrometer using the salt test and as it stands...

UPDATE: I sent an email response to cheaphumidors.com's email Friday. They didn't get back to me, so today I sent them my response for the second time. Take a look. WHAT I WROTE IN RESPONSE TO THEIR EMAIL: My humidor is actually drying out my cigar stash. So based on how they feel or how they...

Can you have too much Crystal Gel? Can having two containers of this be drawing the moisture out of the cigars?

    problem with humidor - cheaphumidors.com

I suspect the glass isn't sealed well too. I can smell the inside of the humidor from one of the corners of the glass. I wonder if we could get some sort of marine sealer or some non-toxic, no mold producing caulk or sealer to seal the top glass lid? Yeah, it wouldn't look pretty, but i'm sure...

    problem with humidor - cheaphumidors.com

I'm going to redo the salt test and get back to you guys with the results. Thanks for the panty hose tip. I did season/prime the humidor really well before I added any cigars. And I didn't add anything to the humidor until the humidity was steady for a couple days.

They never addressed my concerns about warpage or the glass top not being sealed correctly, allowing air to seep in. And if what he's saying about the cigars being able to be humidified as low as the high 50's is true, then why are my cigars drying out? My hygrometer would have to be off by...

    problem with humidor - cheaphumidors.com

I'm having troubles with a humidor I bought from cheaphumidors.com. I've had THIS humidor for a couple months now but for some reason my cigars have been drying out even though my hygrometers are reading 70-75% humidity. My setup consists of the following: I'm using the large rectangular...

As of right now I wouldn't recommend cheaphumidors.com to anyone. I've had my humidor from them for a couple months and even though my humidity is reading 70-75, my cigars are still drying out. I sent the email below and received the following response. MY EMAIL to cheaphumidors.com I recently...

    Just got engaged

Yesterday I proposed to my girlfriend and she said yes. I had a buddy over and we lit up a couple C.A.O. America's and while it was an okay smoke, I feel I need something better to celebrate such an occasion. My future wife even took a few puffs to celebrate with me. I was excited because that...

Humidor Beads v. Gel v. PG

What is the better choice of humidification devices - beads, gel, pg & water, etc? I have a small 50 capacity humidor that isn't maintaining its humidity. I've only been using distilled water and a cheapy humidifier. I've been reading that most of the solutions listed above are a great...
