    Recomendations for a Small Bowl?

    I use a small Servi 100 series meerschaum when I want a quick/small bowl.

    What lessons have you learned?

Thank you everyone for the tips so far! Keep them coming! Two of you mentioned purging the cigar, and I've done a search on it and read the description there, but I'm still confused...

    What lessons have you learned?

So lately I've been working on a journal of my cigar (and pipe tobacco) ventures so that I can both look back upon my progression of taste in the future, and so that I will have a better idea of what I'm looking for in a cigar when I purchase more. In doing so, I've learned a few lessons quite...

    Carve your own

I agree, I would never smoke from a lead pipe, but back then they didn't know the dangers of lead poisoning and it was a strong sturdy but small pipe for them to carry on the battlefield.

Just stepped into the dark(white) side

I LOVE meerschaum pipes for all the reasons mentioned above, as well as the ability to watch them color and take on a life of their own... of sorts at least. Congratulations on your meerschaum purchase, it's one of the best purchases a pipe smoker can make. I do think that every pipe smoker...

    An experiment

I too am fond of English pipe smoking traditions. Another tradition that they have which I highly recommend trying is getting snuff (the nasal kind not the wet stuff that we commonly refer to as snuff in the States) and when you have a bowl of your favorite blend burning evenly, sprinkle it...

    Microwave tobacco?

I know people who put their scraps and shade leaves and such into the microwave before cooking with them, or turning them into any number of other products because they claim it converts the THC-A to THC. But would I ever do this to my tobacco? NO WAY!

My First Try at a Pipe

Ahh pipes, a love of mine... I'm glad to hear that you decided to give pipe smoking a try, like you my first attempts at smoking a pipe were not unpleasant, but not relaxing either. I'll offer you a few tid-bits of wisdom which have helped me get to the point that I truly love pipes The...

    Carve your own

I've never used a one of the pre-made kit things, but I have been looking into prices for briar burls. My father does quite a bit of woodcarving and I've been talking with him about the two of us starting to make hand carved pipes as something that we may both enjoy. He does not smoke, and...
