I bought a box years ago on a good deal impulse buy. They went to sleep for 8+ years because they were never as good as I remember. After all of that time they reminded me of a Cuban LGC. Very nuanced and quite good, but not worth the space to age a Padron.
Just discovered my local spot has Red Breast 12 for 15 dollars cheaper than I've ever found it. They also have Green Spot for about the same. I think I'll have both.
It's an art form around here with Kentucky, Tennessee, and West Virginia so close. Even local law enforcement turns a blind eye because they have some common sense and know people are just practicing a craft. That was the end of a jar from last Christmas and needless to say I was one eyeing it...
Nice review. I love gin and drink it up like I drink everything else so I am intrigued by the apple flavor. I imagine it makes it especially good during the dog days of summer when the gin and tonic is king. Is this available in the states?
The truth of the matter is, I would take just about any other cigar Fuente makes over the 20th. I've discussed my disappointment with Fuente's production over the last 5 years with several brothers, and this cigars is no different. The burn was terrible, the flavor was acrid from 5/8" into it...
