I agree that one usually can't perpare for everything. One does what one can according to budget, perceived possible threats, and responsibilities. I would love to build a house on some beautiful acreage not too far from the nearest Small Town. Ain't happenin.
But I only have myself to answer to...
It's not about predicting the future, which is impossible. It's about being prepared. I was one of the original preppers. I was a boy scout and remember our motto, "Always be prepared".
I'm glad you guys found another use for this thread. Wish I was still in warm Tucson enjoying a Scotch and a cigar. I managed to sneak in a wee cigar while my son and I were fixing his car horn. I figured if I was gonna be cold I might as well. :)
As long as it isn't womenopause. :)
I made a mistake getting arthroscopic surgery 30 years ago and it didn't go well. Now stem cells are the way to go but it still isn't approved by the FDA. But my knee is now too messed up for stem cell treatment.
It is possible to get the treatment in the US...
I was just in Tucson visiting family and that occurred to me. But I would most likely need the surgery eventually and it is fairly routine these days. Still, winter is less wonderlandy as I get older so maybe one day.
Yeah, I am having severe knee problems and the brace doesn't work well with pants. :(
I'm considering knee replacement surgery. It would be preferable to wearing shorts all winter! :P
