Ok, it begs the question then....how long is an open bottle of bourbon good for before it starts to taste crappy? I once had an awesome whiskey opened and within 1 year it was flat and tasted much different.
My experience seems to point me to 3-6 months.
I picked up a bottle based on this thread and Ray's recommendation. I have not opened it yet as I still have an open bottle of Woodford and Wild Turkey Rare Breed.
Very nice. I was dying to know what stick Jeff happened to love so much. Low and behold, I have a couple of these at the bottom of the humi. One of my old favorites that I have not smoked in at least a year. Thanks Greg.....because of you I have to dig into the humi again.
Not necessarily true, Doc. I have one of those lame little beer fridges in the garage and when set to it's coldest setting, I was able to get it below -20.
I have had beetles emerge even with a wine cooler but it has always been due to incubation during shipping. Sometimes it's very hot here. It could be very nice here, but very cold in the area the sticks are being shipped from. That particular mail truck, mail station, UPS truck etc etc etc...
Well you would think the cheapo is more accurate, but my experience has told me that bagging them isn't quite enough. A single bag is somewhat permeable, and subject to fluctuations if it is disturbed. When I salt test, I get a clear piece of good tupperware, tape all hygros facing outward so...
I think these are a tasty little smoke. Though I have some from late 07, they seem to be going through a 'stale' period. I will let them sit again for another 6 months.
There's hobbies outside of booze and cigars??
Oh yeah.....
They are:
Writing music via guitar and drums
Shooting
Bird hunting
Studying the Bible
Car stereo stuff
Anything handy around the house
Eating food that tastes good
edit to add: wine when I have time, money and am in the mood.
