Had a couple goodies watching the Masters.
Started off With PVW 20 from 2011. Man, to steal Boar's line, "this stuff is the nectar of the gods". I thought I remembered enjoying the 15yo slightly more but, I don't know how bourbon could get much better than this. The nose was intoxicating...
Had a Margarita Earlier. It was fantastic.
3oz Don Julio Anejo
.75oz Grand Marnier
2 lime wedges squeezed
Add 3 ice cubes to a cocktail shaker.
Shake For 20-30seconds
Drink Straight up
See a trend with the Manhattan. :-) perfect mixing ratio's for me.
Now enjoying a glass of...
Manhattan: My recipe. I have this dialed in pretty well for my taste.
3oz Bulleit Rye
.75oz Carpano Antica
4-5 drops Fee Bros Whiskey Barrel Aged Bitters
and 2 luxardo's...
Love this stuff. Also really like that Carpano is available in a 375ml now.
Man what I line up. Good for you. Those are some damn good whiskey's. I Love the JPS 17 in particular. I know there are variations in batch #'s mine are all lower and have been absolutely phenomenal juice. Thankfully, I think I still have 2 or 3 bunkered.
How was the boss hog? I enjoy...
Will do!! I had another healthy dram last night. It is a very nice whisky and more complex than I remember.
Freezer huh? I would have never thought about doing that. I will put some in a 100ml glass and pop it in. I am curious to see how it performs. Agreed on the Platinum, I haven't...
JW Gold. Little bugger's been hiding in the back of my cabinet about 1/2 full. I've been trying to cull the heard as my opens had been a little out of control. Very nice dram, better than I remember it is definitely a little soft almost too smooth but, it has a very nice profile. I fear that...
MMMM one of my absolute favorites. I can almost smell it now. Enjoy!!! For me trying to finish up some open bottles. Grabbed a Dram of Glenfiddich Snow Phoenix that was trying to hide on the back shelf. Excellent stuff!
Went Sherried CS tonight.
Popped the cork on the Glendronach CS and followed up with some Macallan CS. Both were excellent but, the Glendronach had a little something extra that gave it the edge.
Thomas H. Handy, finished my bottle then, wanted another rye so I hit the Willet Family Estate Single Barrel. Both were very good but, the Handy was pushing excellence.
The bottle I have is the 2012 edition. Last time I had it as a stand alone I remember liking it quite a bit. This time felt it was a little out classed by its brethren (which are some of my All Time Favorites). I was not intending to do a Laphroaig tasting the night just kind of went that way...
Ran through a nice line up of one of my favorite distilleries, Laprhoaig, last night watching the Pats tear apart the Colts.
Triple Wood, 18, Cairdeas 2012, and Cask Strength. In that order. I have to say the Triple Wood was the stand out for me. Which is surprising as I was not a huge fan...
They have a release now not sure of the distribution. I believe they are on batch #2. Its for sale here for $90.
This is the bottle that I have.

Boar,
How'd you like the Glendronach Cask Strength. I have been working on thinning out some of my open bottles. I am about ready to pop the cork on something in the bunker and have been thinking that my be the one to try while I can still get more.
I agree to a certain extent. A mild or moderate razor and a feather is a match made from above. For me feathers and a very aggressive razor like a Muhle R41 I get some irritation going against the grain especially on the mustache area. I rotate through Feathers, Polsilver SI (my favorite all...
