Wow, HEB looks like a pretty cool place! I had never heard of them before and just goooglead them. We don't have these up here in the anal retentive northeast. You can only get some beer in grocery stores, wine and liquor can only be sold in liquor stores and the liquor stores can pretty much...
Oooooo, I'm glad you reminded me about that. I got a bottle of that from AVB during one of his holiday buys about ten years ago and I still have it. That might be tonight's nightcap!:)
Wow, nice thread! The only photos I'll ever post here will be my wife's creations, she's an incredible chef and used to have her own business as a personal chef. The kitchen is HER realm, I'm not allowed to touch anything in there which is fine with me since I can barely make myself a bowl of...

Hey KB, did I tell you I worked with a guy from Chattanooga? I could barely understand him, LOL! He had some great expressions we don't hear up here in the north:
"Them pheasants I was tagging are as dumb as a bag of hammers."
He was a big Vols fan (surprise...

Yeah, it's "highly allocated" at my local store. A case or two comes in about every three months and they limit it to one bottle...
I've been on a Bourbon kick for about a year and a half. I pretty much love anything from the Buffalo Trace Distillery:
Blantons
W.L. Weller (Antique 107 and the 12 year)
Eagle Rare
Buffalo Trace
and of course Pappy Van Winkles. I have a bottle of the 10 year, the 12 year and the 15 year...
Oh man, I'm sorry but even though KJ Vintner's Reserve Chardonnay is one of the most popular wines around, I can't stomach it..... Too many California Chardonnays are overly oaked and "buttery" which don't do it for me. French Chardonnays are either lightly oaked or not oaked at all and...
Nate,
You generally don't lay down white wines for periods of time. Most inexpensive white wines will go bad in a few years. As far as red wines to store for a while, you'd want to look at mid-priced to expensive French Bordeauxs and Burgundies.
The best years for mid-priced French red...
