Most folks think Jon's favorite cigars were Opus X, and they would be right in the sense that he was a big time Opus whore. That being said, if you had asked him what he felt his ultimate favorite cigar was, he would have told you if he could smoke just one cigar only, it would be the Don...
TAPS is always awesome. The one in Brea is amazing, so I'm sure the Corona one is the same. I'm sure if we asked them ahead of time they would help us set it up, and maybe help us with a table for the photographs? That's if Jimmy is ok with this idea. We can do the herf later in the day so...
Good reviews, I enjoyed reading them. Sounds like you and your father in law had a great time. It's been a while since I last had a Johnny-O!, unfortunately, but I still remember the first time I had one. The thing smelled like barnyard and tasted frickin' incredible. Easily one of the best...
Hope you don't feel like we are trying to take over your herf Jimmy. I figured input would be helpful is all. Anything you need to help make this happen, let me know. I'm free the 15th as well.
Jimmy, no one here would ever think you selfish for turning this into a herf for Jon. If someone thinks that, screw them. I think what we are feeling is maybe this should be fully redone as a memorial herf for Jon if it's going to be for him. Not because your idea is a bad one, just because...
Happy birthday Jon, I hope wherever you are, you're happy and looking down on us. Someday we will meet again, and I'll give you a huge hug and have a smoke while we laugh and think back on all the good times we have. Hopefully you'll forgive me for not being there towards the very end.
This should be a good read...I'm curious about these smokes. I've had Costa Rican tobacco before and found it to be good, but it wasn't blended well with other tobaccos so it was lacking something. A puro, though, that would be neat.
My B&M carries these. I had the pleasure of being at the shop when he popped open the box, thus earning me the chance to smoke the first one. Granted, I generally refrain from smoking cigars right out of being shipped (too many issues associated with being over/under humidified), however, he...
Getting a yearly bump is a good thing for this thread. I feel a lot of new (and even experienced) cigar smokers should read this. It's great advice and information from a man who knows his stuff. Thanks again for contributing to CP something that we all benefit from. We're fortunate to have...
Yup, that is definitely Jon, haha....that big bastard was a damn goofball, and it never ceased to make me laugh.
Fuck, that hurts. That really hurts. Every time I see a picture of him I can hear his voice saying something stupid and hilarious.
Agreed. As Matt and I find out details, if folks want them, just send a PM. I'm planning on calling a few folks tomorrow to see if I can find out more about what happened.
