Ouch. Brown recluse, I've never been bit but I have a handful of buddies who have. Gets real nasty, most of the guys wound up self treating it. Not a route I would go myself (I'd rather have a doc. cut it out than to do it myself) but it worked out for them.
Still a bad idea. The humidity may not be affected too much initially, but in the long run I wouldn't trust my cigars in a normal refrigerator even with a temp. controller. The only kind of refrigerated cigar storage I would consider would be along the lines of a vinotemp.
And MiamiCubano...
I figure with the cello it protects the cigars and it also gives us the choice to store them cello'ed or not.
I personally don't care all that much, I generally keep them as they arrive. What I do like about the cello is that I can just grab one and don't have to worry about wrapper damage...
I met Rocky back in February. I didn't get to talk to him much (I didn't have much time and everyone was talking to him) but it was very cool to meet him. Seems like a very laid back guy, someone that it would be great to sit down and have a smoke with,
I downloaded it last night and have used it a bit today. So far it's great, a couple things I don't care for but no big deal. I do find it's loading pages faster than before which is nice and I'm loving the plugins.
Last time I felt jilted I had lit up an Opus #5 just to discover it tasted horrible, I wound up tossing it pretty quickly into the smoke, I proceeded to light up another cigar (I think it was a party short) and discovered it was plugged.
The Opus I think needed to be laid down for a long nap...
You couldn't really go wrong with anything with the name Padron on it. I think Pepin is also worth checking out, his blue labels are a favorite of mine. And you also couldn't go wrong with anything from the Fuente Hemingway line.
And like Irish recommended it may be worth talking to the B&M...
I'm eventually going to take part in one of these. I decided when I missed out on the last one I would catch the next, I guess that didn't happen :( . Oh well, I'll have to keep an open eye and jump in early next time.
AVB, just want to throw you a thanks for doing another Scotch buy. I may...
Heartfelt beads are the way to go.
They may seem kind of pricey, especially compared to water, floral foam, and PG solution, but they are definitely worth it, when I used the foam/water/PG set up it was a nightmare, my humidity was always high and it was just bad all around (just so you guys...
I've ordered from them once and it went great. There was a small issue with the shipping addy being different than my credit card addy but they gave me a call and was handled very quickly and professionally. I will probably order from them again sometime.
That is one of the cooler things I've seen.
Just to let you know, if given the chance I'm going to steal your idea :p
That is really stylish looking and well put together.
x2
I haven't been around nearly as long as some of you guys but I have seen several guys get shown the door shortly after joining.
Every guy that I've seen get "their ass handed to them by the FOGs" ultimately deserved it. There may have been a time or two where someone was a bit harsher...
Wow!
I just looked through the threads with the close ups of the ashtrays and everyone of them look great. I thought they looked good in the large group pick, but the individual closeups really show the quality work you do.
