Always worried about whiskeys like this - seems to be gimmicky. But - a very nice malt whiskey (scotch like). A nice toasty oakiness and a great long warm finish. Not bad for the price! Well made.
Thank you for the compliment! I've been trying to better improve my photos - so I do appreciate some appreciation I'm doing at least a passible job!
As far as submitting it for publication - I did that a few times, and have only been published once (though I've had several pictures appear on...
A friend brought it back from Mexico. Can’t wait to give it a try!
UPDATE: Poured myself a glass the other night - neat - and it is as smooth as silk. Very nice agave notes, without the heavy fire of regular unaged blanco tequilas. Not like an aged tequila with the smoky notes, but it is a...
I really liked the earlier versions of the Dalmore Cigar Malts. They stopped producing it for a short time, and re-introduced it with a bit of a different blend. It’s still very good, but I did like the earlier version much better. I personally am a huge King Alexander fan - but the price is...
Some photos I took while on our Southern Caribbean cruise on the Celebrity Summit. The iguana and crab photos were at the resort we stayed at in San Juan, PR.
I was shocked to see the whisky's being produced by Three Floyds. There's a Bubblegumhead one as well (it was out of stock). They also had a Gin on the shelves I'm tempted to try.
As far as how it was - pretty damn good $40 whiskey. It's young (4 years) but pretty smooth. I'd buy another...
I completely agree with the notes listed on the back of the bottle - vanilla, marshmallow (surprising), toffee, caramel and creme brulee. It was very smooth, and not very spicy. A very nice warm after burn that dissipated pretty quickly. I'm generally not in favor of a heavily peated malt...
This just looked to interesting to pass up - Three Floyds Warsprite malted whisky I generally like Three Floyds beer, so I was tempted to give this a try
Jeez! I feel like people like me. Holy crap. My New Year’s resolution is to have another birthday next year! Though it’s going to be tough if I gotta blow out the candles on my cake…
Thanks everyone for the best wishes. Unfortunately I had to give up cigars this past year, but I at least have...
Used to the Laphroaig, but the Arran looks interesting. Not tried that one yet - had to look it up. Looks to be a newer distillery (1995ish) and seems they have a good process. I'm also interested in their Robert Burns blended whisky. Love to hear your thoughts!
Now this is an interesting pour. Picked it up locally for $30. Triple Distilled and triple casks (bourbon, sherry and chestnut). I have to say - very pleasant combination. A bit of a sweetness and very easy, smooth whisky. I drank it neat and really enjoyed it. It is unique, yet familiar. In my...
Gave my son the Old Grand Dad 16 for Xmas and he broke that bad boy open last night. it is interesting - smooth as all get out. 100 proof - it is not a flaming kind of burn, but instead a perfect warming feeling. Very subtle nuances of oak with little spice. Very, very enjoyable.
