The best I can tell from a few minutes of research this is an urban myth.  There is no fiberglass in any of the smokeless tobaccos.

My Brother and I did the Maker tour many years ago.  It was a good tour.  I need to check to see when my barrel will be ready.  I think I still have a few years.   A couple of years ago I did the Four Roses, Wild Turkey, and Woodford tours in about 4 or 5 hours.  It's only about a 10 to 15...

A lot of people loose all rational behavior when it comes to auctions.  That's what the auction sites are counting on.  Several decades ago I was at a local live auction and saw a very well used Craftsman table saw sell for over new retail.
