A few weeks ago, a Steller's Jay started hanging around the deck, scoring raw peanuts that The Wife® puts out for the the neighborhood squirrel. We had friends over for dinner on Labor Day weekend and while we were sitting on the deck, Jay showed up for more eats. Within the span of a few...
Drive the Blue Ridge Parkway to Boone. A nice, scenic drive with things to see along the way: Grandfather Mountain, Linville Falls, Linn Cove Viaduct, Blowing Rock, etc.
My "new build" is coming up on one year old already! How time flies. I don't consider myself a gamer and I haven't benchmarked it but here's my system:
ASUS P5Q-E LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 Yorkfield 2.83GHz 12MB L2 Cache LGA 775 95W Quad-Core Processor...
I just finished reading First Man: The Life of Neil A. Armstrong by James R. Hansen.
Just started Hood from the King Raven Trilogy by Stephen R. Lawhead.
I'll be in Redondo Beach, California during the week of July 13th on goobermint business. I'm not sure of our exact evening agenda but I should be able to meet at least one evening: either the 14th, 15th, or 16th.

With my round face, I pretty much stick to the standard point collar. You...
Congrats on your first pilgrimage! (Psssst...there's only one "L" :whistling: )
I went to my first (and second) Cabela's store in Minnesota. Since we don't have one in my state, I do a fair bit of business with 'em by mail order. We keep hearing rumors of one opening here...maybe one day...
Rusty...at the risk of telling you something you already know...
If we're just talking about the mechanics of tasting, like some folks have already noted, the nose plays a big part. Our tongues distinguish between four basic tastes: sweet, sour, salty, and bitter. The schnoz, on the other...
Big B...
I'm a bit like you with cigar smoking times...but yours might be a tad longer than mine. A 5" x 54 would probably take me right around an hour to an hour-fifteen. I could probably take a stout churchill out to 2 hours. I can smoke 'em faster if I put my mind to it but my natural pace...
I guess that's one reason they call 'em "poodle shooters"...and honestly, the poodles (sissy haircuts notwithstanding) aren't really all that intimidated. :sign:
