They definitely look like coons. If they're ultra-friendly, super-smart cats that love attention...they're coons. Also, coons tend to make cricket-like chirping sounds. Oh - and they're generally big; 12-18 lbs. is average.

Doc is 100% correct. This is my Maine Coon - he passed away a few years ago, but he did indeed act more like a dog than a cat. He was bigger than many dogs, too - as you can see in the pic. He was over 20lbs, but not fat - just BIG. If I ever get another cat - it's definitely going to be a Coon.
