I was thinking 2 lbs was going to be sufficient as I've read many people saying 2 lbs is overkill. I was on board of having the conditions return to normal faster by having more beads in there. It's funny how the temperature swings 4-5 degrees even though my cigars are in a closet, in a room...
One thing I'm sure of is the seal on the Lock and Lock. It's a great seal. Prior to that, my seal was the big culprit for not holding RH.
If it weren't for some temperature concerns and the need for more storage, I would be more than happy leaving my cigars in the lock and lock. It isn't...
I understand the dry cigar theory and agree that it should recover after a few days. I dont know what gives...lol I don't stress about it like I used to but I just want to make sure I make the correct decision moving forward and moving into a wineador. Unless the box is stamped incorrectly on...
Is anyone able to provide a rough estimate of how many cigars you are able to store in a 1 slot drawer vs a 2 slot drawer for this model? I'm guessing you could stack 3 rows tall for a double slot drawer and maybe 2 rows tall on a single slot? Depending on ring size, 7-10 across? Is this...
I did salt test 2 of them and noted the difference in readings compared to 75%. One was dead on while the other was -2%. I re-tested and the same reading so I marked it as such. It has been about a year so perhaps it's worth re-calibrating. I have the Caliber III as I read they are very...
I have been paying closer attention to my RH in my tupperdor being as though I picked up a wine fridge (AW281 E) recently. I originally thought that 70% was where I wanted to store my cigars. After observing for quite some time, it seems i sit more closely to 65% or in the 66%-68% range. I know...
I always enjoy discussions about the types of cutters others like to use as well as lighter choices. I'm also always looking for ideas and ways to keep up with my cigar game. I have a long way to go.
I'm sure this isn't original but what do you have in your arsenal of accessories? Take a...
Definitely a sad day and a tragic loss. Very talented individual and f'in hilarious. One can only hope he found peace with himself on the other side. RIP
I like cigars and I'm a firefighter. Had I realized beforehand that I may really start enjoying this place, I may have picked something a little more creative.
Congrats and good luck. Looking forward to you sharing some pictures once you get set up and figure out how to add images. I recently picked up the same model and am in the process of airing it out and getting rid of the plastic smell.
The addiction is growing.....
Thank you for responding. I am on the verge of pulling the trigger but really don't want to buck up to pay for a new unit. The clear choice seems to be thermoelectic in terms of maintenance and upkeep. I am not sure how long these units have been lasting with regular use but based on reading...
Your health is one of the few things you have as you move through life. Your mind is another. You have to do your best to maintain both. I can only echo the sentiments of the previous posters and recommend a second or third opinion.
Today, it's difficult to assess the angle of these doctors...
I have been scouring many websites in search of educating myself more about wineadors. I've come across a few things that I am still unsure of and want to make sure I understand before I dive in. I did not expect to come to the point where I would even have to consider a wineador but it seems...
Lmao There are plenty of other reasons to get aggravated at her but she meant well. She could have just thrown it out so I'll chalk it up to a learning experience. I think I'm going to keep her..
I had those beads in there for well over a year and they were still looking good. They were...
So I smoked a cigar the other day out of the humidor and did not notice any flavor from the half smoked cigar left in there. Unfortunately, I tossed all of the beads and replaced them with new ones. I think the saving grace was that I am using a tuppador instead of a cedar humidor. Certainly, a...
I'm very thankful I don't have a taste for the flavored stuff otherwise I think I would be in more of a jam as the flavor would have infused in the remaining sticks. Also in my favor was low stock. There are only about 15 or so cigars in my humidor right now. Nothing too exotic remaining. I'll...
Thanks guys. Luckily, I am using Tupperware as my primary humidor as it has held the humidity better than any of the humidors I've used. I plan on lighting one up tomorrow from the contaminated humidor.
Thankfully I don't smoke the flavored ones otherwise I suspect it would be a larger...
+1 for getting rid of any standing water around your home. Not sure how well the HD sprays work but professional spraying will help for a decent amount of time. I heard mouthwash and dryer sheets also keep the bugs away. I don't foresee you laying them across your yard though :-)
