Several points I'd like to make in my last comments on this.
I do not bash kayakinboy, I point out that he has no evidence that TW is gouging. I'm sure his intentions are honorable.
Yes their prices are way over MSRP. Yes, if they are a Fuente authorized retailer and get them from...
I was done here but since you directed this post (at least partially) at me I'll respond.
I haven't had the opportunity to meet Moki, but I have drooled over his website on rare Fuentes on many an occassion. I have read his posts in the past and realize that he has a lot more knowledge of...
No, Moki, I am surrounded by pedantic pricks daily at work, I know all about the word. "No street smarts" ... like buying Opus X for 30 bucks a stick? You'll have to change the direction of the finger, I'm not that naive.
The big picture is in a free market people can sell products for...
Its pretty clear that you don't actually know what the word "pedantic" means. Here, I'll help you:
pedantic
adjective
Characterized by a narrow concern for book learning and formal rules, without knowledge or experience of practical matters: academic, bookish, donnish, formalistic, inkhorn...
Another example of the stunning clarity of cogent discourse.
Did you guys go to Harvard or Yale on Debate Club scholarships?
I'm really going to have to do something fast to keep up with y'all. I think I'll start by reading "Debating Four Dummies".
You say we are "protecting gouger...
Actually, the first comments below were the only thing that incited my interest in this board's thread. I have no interest in causing a flame war, but I'm not about to twiddle my thumbs when people that I know are insulted.
I decided not to contribute to this board after joining it because...
1. I joined this board before you did.
2. I did not post to start a fight - the ignorant comments about CS elicited my posts. Normally I just ignore stupid people, but in this case I made an exception.
3. Your complete and utter lack of understanding of "free market economy" makes me...
I wanted a source for YOU ... so you could get them at MSRP and stop whining about a retailer that uses the concept of "free market economy" to sell cigars. You want everything at list, I'm sure there are some communist countries that would suit your delicate temperment.
Not over a whole...
I guess I lost my secret decoder ring. Not to worry, I'm not a fan of Opus X at MSRP anyhow, let alone $30 plus a stick. Now Anejos are a different story.....
Correct.
If I want to buy them online I can either buy them over MSRP or not get them at all. Its called supply and demand. If TW were able to sell them at MSRP, or close to it, they would be sold out in 15 minutes. So how would that help me get an Opus X if I wanted to buy one for a gift...
THREADJACK
CC,
Thanks for the words of welcome. I came here to CP after hearing it was THE PLACE to join passes. I must say that this pass has been entertaining, but as it is named election pass, it is only fitting that there be a wee tad of friction and disagreement.
I hope the rest of the...
tobaccobarns has BTLs listed at $15.45, somewhat lower than the $20 MSRP. I have no idea if they are in stock or not. At that price, I doubt it. OTOH, I bought Padron 64 and 26s there for MSRP when others were sold out or selling at higher prices.
If a cigar goes out of stock at most places...
