I will just do NC cigars as I don`t have enough other experience. In no order of preference-
PAM 64 in the smallest size
Opus x #4
torano 1959 exodus blk/gld label belicoso
AF between the lines (had one, so not really fair for list)
bauza pmd when it was camaroon wrapped now maybe don...
Thanks for all the replies- I am glad that my price and ash comments were finally "believed"! I will def keep my eye out for more of these, but its not such the cigar that I can`t live without. If i find more I will smoke them and not save `em!
Old drug store humidors were really not humidors proper. I worked in a super old corner drug store in high school and they had one similar to this. There are no seals on the doors usually. The other one we had was glass fronted and had sliding doors front and back to allow stocking and selling...
Long term storage- always off- short term I open the end of the cello to let the cigar breathe, and then it is protected for the trip. Cigars tend to age more slowly with the cello on.
thanks for the words- I also had looked around a bit and thought they seemed to be of decent quality. Years ago I managed a drug store and would order pipes- the famous graybows! I had one that was clay lined and it actually wasn`t a bad smoke, but then again I never ran any good tobac through...
Hello all- hoping someone can help me out on this one! I have a pipe I bought for my father many years ago (20+). I bought it right at the time he quit smoking and was kind of cheesed as I remember spending a lot for it (35 or so- hey i was young and that was rightous bucks)! he has since passed...
Every sunday morning the Am station here in town plays a hour of serials. Usually it is the shadow or some other crime drama, and then a superman or some other serial. I have to say I am usually pretty rivited to the radio when they are on.
A love supreme and my favorite things by coltrane. I also am a big fan of brother jack mcduff- the essential hammond sound! Rock candy is a good represenitive cut. Groove holmes is another very accesible artist.
I am a midwesterner, so I have anything from no humidity to 100%! but as far as the cigars go- i agree 70 is the upper limit. I would have to do blind tasting, as would anyone else for the flavour differences. I think a lot of the 70 suggestions are simply for storage and shipping- to keep...
I have found that between 65 and 70 is best for me- and really don`t freak out too much about a bit of fluctuation. I think it is time to call out the engineers, because I seriously doubt that 10 minutes after being lit the difference in 5% Rh is going to make a bit of difference. As soon as...
A lot of times that I have a plug or a poor draw, I am out on the bike and have to make whatever I brought work. I usually have to resort to a thin green twig. Don`t use anything dried or it will break off. I have never had a problem doing this- and it usually makes the cigar smokable. I have...
I have sampled most all NC cigars other than
Ashton VSG
AVO
I would love to try a good smoking perdomo- as I have had about a dozen that were non burners/plugged.
As far as ISOM- I have only tried a couple and would love to try more- BUT PLEASE don`t send anything I would love and not be...
In answer to the original post- If a box of cigars is sealed at the factory and put into a plastic bag, it will slow but not stop the drying of the cigars. However if that sealed plastic box and bag are put into a humidor, it will not lose its humidity for a long time. Here is the example i will...
I joined this board for its positive attitude- and don`t want to break that thought....but... Perdomo is my pet peeve. They make beautiful cigars- great wrappers and they to me smell great. I really would enjoy smoking one- but my cigar diary lists 14 attempts. Only two made it to halfway, and...
I value the mag scores only due to blind tasting. I have noticed that they often have cubans that are box aged a couple years and I don`t think that is fair dinkum.... I like to blind taste cigars, and often will have the mrs pull a band off something for me. I do put great value on what the...
I agree attitude has a lot to do with it, although I find cigars to be a great stress reliever! And also the cigars I have rated for factories got big thumbs down. What I have trouble with are sticks that are gifted or blind tasted where I have nothing but the flavor to go by. Its easy to say "I...
