I always recommend ditching the foam humidifiers and upgrading to the gel humidifiers. Double up during the winter and you should be fine.

I have gone through several pounds of beads and never run across this. Are you using the tubes that heartfelt sells? I would hit them up and try to get these replaced. Its not worth risking your cigars.

Congrats! You picked a good one! If you use a shallow dish instead of a shotglass the added surface area will help you season your new humidor faster.

Its a very common issue if you run your heater enough and open your humidor frequently. I think that is a great solution. I just refill mine more frequently in winter.
