As far as I know, it doesn't affect cigar bars. I think it is mostly for restaurants. I think my post was kind of vague though. When I mean cigar bars, I mean a bar where the emphasis is more cigars than booze. Even just cigar shops with chairs or couches will do.
I know this thread is a little old, but I had the same problem a few months ago. I'm not sure if it was overhumidification, but I think that may be it. I noticed a dung-like smell from an onyx I had in my humidor, and it had a strange taste compared to the onyx reserves I smoked a month or two...
