I did, and make it Nonscented bleach. I'm glad I checked this once more before trying to go to sleep so I could catch that mistake. I don't know if scented bleach makes a difference, but I would rather be safe than sorry. I'm glad I could help man and good luck on you coolidor.

Yes. You want to get all smells, including the plastic smell out of it. I put scolding hot water along with 1/4 cup of bleach and let it sit over night, then let it sit in the sun the next day. This really opens the plastic on the molecular level and allows out the prominent scents. After that...
I used to do that to mine all the time man. It should'nt hurt if you wiped it up. I actually get mine good and damp when I get a new one. I wouldn't worry about it.
Sorry if my post came off rude, I don't think it did, but if so, then once again, I apologize. But I was serious about the small, temporary humi. I would recommend following these guys advise and going with the beads in the mesh. In all seriousness, do not let those cigars go bad!
Shit dude, I'll sell you an already-seasoned small humidor for 20$ if you really need one. But if not, then I definitly recommend humidity beads or something. I'd hate to see those cigars dry out.
Take out the oasis and put a cup of silicone beads. That will not take up as much room and will be just as effecient in that humi. But you're right, judging by those smokes, you will need a much bigger one, the longer you stay here.

What I did last time I had that problem, which doens't happen enough; I wiped down every surface of the humidor with saline solution and put all the cigars into ziplock bags, closed them up and put inside the humi. The humidor should be seasoned in the next 36 hours and you can ease your sticks...
