    Today's Smoke II

You're welcome. Folks at JR say that it is one of their best selling sticks and can't stock enough of them.

Tip: Paste confirmation code into Google to instantly track USPS packa

Just for giggles, I copied and pasted a tracking number into the address field in my Chrome browser. It instantly bought up the USPS tracking information for my package. Didn't need to navigate to the USPS site, open tracking link, enter code, etc. It saves a few clicks. Don't know if this...

    Today's Smoke II

Been busy but on Saturday, I hosted a birthday party for a friend who turned 80. My gift to him was a bottle of Lagavulin Single Malt. My friend was campaigning for a well-aged bottle of Bowmore but I chose instead to choose the Lagvulin it because it was valued at a dollar a year of his...

La Dueña - Love at First Light

I smoked several sticks in the course of this review. The first, on Saturday morning, was with coffee; followed by a Coke (Mexican recipie - real sugar, not corn fructose). Both very compatible. Lit up another Saturday evening accompanied by stinger; followed by finger or two of Buchanan's...

    Strong Finish

Strong finish kicks your butt on the way out the door. Note the straight burn even to the nub.
  9. Nice Ash

    Nice Ash

Firm ash hung solidly for over an inch. I tapped off earlier than needed, leaving cone ember.

    Love at First Light

The La Duena starts out sweet with a touch of pepper, very creamy. The razor sharp burn continues for the duration of the smoke.

    Today's Smoke II

Padilla Series 78 Not quite yucky. Burn was ragged, tunneled for the duration of the stick, spicy flavor but unbalanced and on the raw side. 2 out of 5 stars. Put the last third down. Wouldn't buy even on sale. Smoked a JR Alternate to the Montecristo #2 and it was much better.

    Undercrown Corona Viva!

Thanks. I had a few years experience as an Associate Editor with the Washington Post company. Wrote technical reviews and industry analysis. Writing about cigars is a LOT more fun.

    Uptown Cigar's new website

You betcha. And computers don't negotiate or offere me bonus cigars or upsizing for nominal fees or steer me to other lines that I might like better or suggest alternate vitolas, etc.etc. Long live humans, down with the machines! Heck, I even call CI or JR before buying anything from them -...

Big improvement, Izzy. Glad to see you have the Ortega's available. Question: Your site lists pack: 25; pack 20, etc. Can we assume that means box?
