I heard about Bo's passing today and he will be missed. As a guitar player for more than 20 years, I can hear his influence in just about all of the rock music in my lifetime. He did not get the recognition he deserved in his lifetime. RIP.
I would suggest a small .38 revolver loaded with hollow points. No jams or safeties and you can even get some grips that will work well for your wife. Six shots should do - if you need more you are in trouble. No need for accuracy, if she is close enough to the perp to warrant shooting, it's...
Wow ... this has been a very interesting thread. As a more "casual" member of this forum, I don't post a lot. But, I have learned two valuable things in this discussion:
1) Even though I have ordered quite a bit from Holt's, I will not anymore. The language used in their catalog regarding...
I grew up in New Orleans, so I know you'll have fun.
I don't know of any herfs, but you should check out the New Orleans Cigar Factory on Decatur street. It's a fun place to visit and their house-rolled smokes are pretty good. I really like the Vieux Carre blend with the Cameroon...
IMHO you can't go wrong with a Palio, Xikar or SAK. I have all three and they probably get equal use. The SAK is great to carry around town, because as Doc points out you can open a beer with it. My Xikar travels out of state and country with me just because it was the cheapest of the three. My...
As others have said, probably a but much for the novice smoker. I would suggest a nice cutter (Palio or Xikar), decent torch lighter, ashtray and/or otterbox travel humidor. You could probably score most or all of these from one of the vendors here for about the same price as the Fuente/Opus...
Don't know your budget or your ring gauge preference, but the Oliva Serie V lanceros are fast becoming my daily smoke. At $5 bucks or so a stick (probably cheaper by the box), they are worth every penny.
This has been a good weekend for smoking. Yesterday I had a Padron 1926 #6 natural in the afternoon followed by an Anejo 50 after dinner. Both were excellent. Right now I'm smoking a J. Fuego Gran Reserva Corojo No. 1 and it's a very nice smoke. This is the first one I've ever had and I can...
Nice work. That bowl full of loose beads would make me nervous. I've had to clean up spilled beads in my footlocker once before, it was not fun. Might want to look into a cheap tupperware container and punch some tiny holes in it or use pantyhose just to be on the safe side.
See the CA interview with the Padrons from 2006. They have experimented with 2% mexican tobacco in their blends in the past, but now they are 100% Nic.
Excerpt:
Q: Why don't you ever use tobacco from other countries?
A: I have tried tobacco from Mexico, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic...
