    My New Humidor

What a bargain! It's amazing that that quality of maple was used in the construction of a barn. Stuff like that brings a very healthy premium these days. Must have been fairly common in that area back then... Beautiful box, I am envious!

    Humidor Modifications

It would be an idea, but at this point I am not able to spend any time trying to get it going. I will however offer my assistance to anyone wishing to modify their own humidor. The DDC controller I used I cannot sell outside of the western 2/3rds of Kansas. The company that makes them is quite...

    Humidor Modifications

Another update... I have decided that the fans I used do not move enough air to allow the peltier device to work as efficiently as it can. Or that the duct work on the hot side needs redesigned to allow less air to bypass the hot side heatsink fins. Temporarily I have placed a small Vornado...

    Has Anyone tried

It really depends on what specific line of Bahia you are talking about. It also depends on your personal taste, which can and does change over time. For example I have what is left of a box of Bahia Vintage 1990 Maduro cigars. When I bought them I thought they were good (decent price too)...

    Caol Ila 10yo Cigar Malt

Rather than make a new thread, I will add my impressions here. This liquor is a pale yellow in color, and at first nosing it smells familiar, similar to phenolic, or bakelite plastic, there are sweet/fruity undertones, but the phenolic smell is what really grabs my attention. I poured this over...

    Burr Grinders

I have a Capresso CoffeeTeam maker. I love it! It combines a burr grinder with the coffee maker. So far it has been a very well built maker that makes great coffee. Just my two cents worth.

    Coolidor Question

The one I have condenses water like crazy at times. The water drips down on whatever is in the cooler. Something to think about. You will definitely want to use some sort of thermostat.

    Good Morning S / BOTL

<snarl!> <growl> Leave me alone dammit! edit after coffee What a wonderful day, the purple finches are feeding in my bird feeder and the temperature is 70f outside. I'm going to burn a Connie #9 while mowing the lawn, and later I plan on digging into the "special box" hidden in the deep dark...

Point to ponder and food for thought..

If a male sheep is a ram, and a male donkey is an ass, why is a ram in the ass a goose ??? Does the reverse side also have a reverse side? It is the "obverse".

    What did you smoke today

Today I sent two cigars to the happy smoking grounds. the first was a ST Dupont lonsdale, not a bad smoke for the money I spent ($29 for a box of 20). Not a great cigar, but pleasant enough. The second was a new one, a Rocky Patel Cuban Blend (natural). Very good cigar, great construction...

    OpFTH Pass...AKA The Sandbox Pass

Ummmm, Padron 4000, Montecristo robusto, and another stick I do not recall. Heck, I can't remember which Monte it was either... White label? There should be a package coming from SteveHawk, winnings from his 2000 post contest (that I, shall we say "massaged the rules" on :)).

    Humidor Modifications

A quick update: I have been getting condensation on the cooling side heatsink. The condensation just drips down into a container that has Vipers beads in it. That said, my humidity level has been a consistent 65% to 68% (65% beads). Since the weather has warmed up here the system has been...

    July long weekend plans?

I will be volunteering at the US Senior Open here in Hutchinson KS. While not working I will be watching (and hopefully learning). I basically have a do-nothing job, caddie services. Kind of a concierge type thing. It should be fun. Make sure and watch on the tube, I'll be the guy with the cigar!
