Savinelli makes a very good pipe. In fact, the first "good" pipe I ever got was a Savinelli. It was the first estate pipe I purchased and it showed me that a good pipe does make a BIG difference. The grain on this pipe looks good too. I hope you can work it out to get it. HAPPY SMOKES! ! ...

That is a fine looking pipe. Do you know who made it? One problem with a bent pipe is that they tend to "gurgle" alot. The moisture produce from the tobacco and from you will often flow downward toward the bowl and then gurgle as you puff on the pipe. But I DO love a bent pipe. HAPPY...

I am partial to the bent ones too, but I have alot of straights as well. The only suggestion I would make is remember that the pipe you choose will be with you for a while. This is an investment. And you can get a GREAT PIPE for less than the cost of a box of cigars. Just find one you like...

    Blending

Wow. . . I love Latakia and Perique too. . . but " a little dab will do ya" is what I have always found. I have even found some blends that have both in them, and I really love these. This is a more complex question though than you think. First off, tastes are so subjective. Secondly. ...

    Estate Pipes

I'll tell you what I do. . . . First, I take the stem off the pipe and drop it into a glass of whiskey or rum or gin (Some distilled spirit). I may let the stem sit in the pipe overnight. When I remove it, I let it airdry and replace it on the pipe. Then, I will take several pipe cleaners...

    Who smokes pipes?

By the way. . . . Another source for the "bite" may be the constant puffing of the pipe. This makes the pipe get alot hotter, and the moisture really starts to be a problem. This can aggravate the "bite" and make it even worse. Slow down on the puffing and that will help too. HAPPY SMOKES...

    Who smokes pipes?

Rod, The problem with "Bite" comes from two different sources. . . . 1.) You were probably using an aromatic tobacco. These tobacco's are loaded with glycerin. This keeps the tobacco moist, but it bites like nobodys business. The solution here is to smoke several different blends. You will...
