It's just the background color. A bit darker with dark text. Maybe by making the background a lighter shade it will "brighten" things up a bit.

I think building your computer is what makes it fun. It's like, yeah this is my system. I know exactly which parts are inside, they are all high quality components, and I know I got a great price for it. Plus, you can mod it. Case in point...

A budget PC $800 and below there's no point, and you should go premade (Dell, COmpaq etc.) But if your burning $1200-$1500 then building it yourself gives you more freedom and you get a more powerful machine at a better price.
