I'm pretty sure there's a prohibition on the harvesting of spanish cedar in Nicaragua, so that's the reason. As for age, yes, a 25count box will have some age on it, I think the last month that saw 25 count x000s was Sept 06 (but I'm not sure on that - that's the latest I've seen them).

If you're stuck in Cuba, I'd do the Bolivar PC. It's small and flavorful, a bigger cigar might go unsmoked. If you want to do something more "legit", I'd go with one of the smaller Tatuaje Red label sizes.
