Vintage lighters are very cool and there is some really interesting and ornate Dunhill stuff out there. Newer stuff seems less consistent, particularly when you get into jets instead or soft flame, so I think if you want legit dunhill swag then looking vintage is the way to go.

The first third is softening with age and the back 2/3 was top notch. This one was from an ‘09 box, so 15 years on it and starting to show its age. That’s sort of a mixed bag because it means they are worth smoking and I can’t just sell them to Chinese collectors for a stupid mark up.
The solution is light them on fire, the opportunity cost only matters if you think of the cigars as commodities. I think of them like food, I’m not going to the French Laundry and bringing that shit home to put in the freezer for a rainy day to recoup some cash.

The 06+ release is my favorite “production” cigar ever, I think it is superior to the Wolters release from 2004. Now what I really want to try is one of the 70s or 80s BGM but I haven’t ever even seen one. If there is a white whale, that’s it.
