Found an old Peterson on the Bay

Thanks guys. Fired her up this morning with some Dunhill Elizabethan Mixture. Very cool and sweet smoke, only one or two relights all the way down to the bottom. Very little dottle. I'm impressed!

Found an old Peterson on the Bay

Picked up a vintage Peterson on eBay. She looked pretty rough to start, but after a little cleaning she turned out pretty well! It's a 106 billiard, with "Peterson (over) Dublin and London" on one side, which dates it between 1949 and 1959 when they had an office in London. Made in Dublin...

    Anyone interested in a trade?

Forgot to mention that I'd also trade for tins of Virginia and/or VaPers.

    Anyone interested in a trade?

It's been purely Escudo and Dunhill Elizabethan Mixture. It has a nice little spice aroma in the bowl. It's a great pipe, but it always leaves me wanting more. She passes a pipe cleaner straight through. I'd also be open to letting it go for $70 shipped. Here are a few pics:

    Anyone interested in a trade?

The Peterson Calabash I bought a week ago is a great smoker (about a dozen bowls through it), but the size is a little small for my liking. Anyone interested in doing a trade?

I posted a photo in the other thread, it has some nice Birdseye and really is a pretty little pipe. I have...

    Dunhill arrived! My first

I am impressed by this pipe! Granted my experience is limited, but it provided a great smoke without much fuss. I had a few relights, but I have no doubt it was due to my inexperienced packing. I see a few more Dunhills on the rack before too long.

    The CP Make-a-Wish PIF Thread

Maybe I'll throw some ideas out there. For pipe tobacco, I enjoy blends like Escudo, Dunhill Elizabethan Mixture, Dunhill Navy Rolls, pretty much any Virginia blend. For cigars, I like Bolis, Upmanns, Ramon Allones, the usual suspects.

Dunhill arrived! My first

I worked out a deal with a fine chap in Canada for my very first Dunhill, a 1956 Shell Briar 252 fishtail. It's a beauty, I can't wait to fire it up after work today. Here are a few pics: And a few beautiful tins =)

Long time cigar smoker getting into pipes

The Peterson XL02 started gurgling on every bowl, smoked slowly or not, and I noticed that it was drilled extremely high. I ended up sending it back. I still have the Calabash, and after breaking it in it smokes like a champ. Nice little pipe for a quick smoke. I've since bought a Dunhill...

My pleasure Larry, enjoy in good health. Bump for my wish to keep this moving! Any cigar or pipe tobacco you enjoy. Or if you have an old pipe tool or tamper laying around gathering dust  Aside from that, I have no idea :sign:

How would you spend $500 on pipe?I

Interesting, I wouldn't think a bowl with walls that thick would do that (but I'm new to pipes as well). I wonder if it's a reaction from heat? You might be able to sand it down and refinish it with something else.

Long time cigar smoker getting into pipes

I love the Peterson XL02, it has a good weight to it and feels comfortable in the hand. The Calabash is a little smaller than I thought it would be, but it's a beautiful pipe. It smokes well, but I think I might put it up for sale and get something a little larger. Photos of the two pipes! ...

    Buying ISOMs in Cuba

This wouldn't happen with VR Unicos, they come in a dress box. Did he buy them at a LCDH, or go for the deal from the señor on the street? =)
